DING fares the week of Thanksgiving?

We're going to DW the week of Thanksgiving and didn't decide until August that we were going. I've been searching for airfares since we decided we were going and it's very high.

Has anyone had success with DING fares the week of Thanksgiving? We'd be flying from Baltimore on Saturday, 11/18 and returning Saturday 11/25. Thinking maybe, as, they have last minute seats to fill?

We're also willing to fly into Tampa if need be. Otherwise, we're driving.

There are current Dings through 11/20. You may have to buy the first half now and hope for a Ding for the return later. Last year I got a sale fare for a Monday after Thanksgiving return, but never got any for Sunday. I wasn't watching for Saturday after Thanksgiving though, so I can't say for certain if any came through and I just wasn't looking for them. Good Luck!!

I'm waiting and hoping for DING fares for Thanksgiving Week also but no luck so far. A girl can always hope right? :)

Keep watching, keep watching, keep watching :surfweb:

Today, I was able to book a DING fare for my friend's family of 4 for Nov. 19th from Manchester to Orlando for $34.00 each. They are on an 8:00PM flight, but it was the only flight available at that rate and going fast.

Now, we have to keep watching continously for a DING are for their return. I'm hoping more will be released in the near future.

Good luck to you :)

Thanks everyone. I have finally "trained" DH in the DING watching. He's ready to go. We've also added Philadelphia in our search in case they get some miracle. It's a little over 2 hrs away (anything can sound close when you're considering driving 910 miles, right?)

Now, here's the big question at our dinner table tonight. What do we do if the first leg of our trip gets a DING - flying BWI to MCO or Tampa? If nothing comes through for the return trip, is there a way to cancel and get a credit? If we don't get good fares for both parts, we're going to have to drive. I am hoping that if something comes through for the return on Monday after Thanksgiving that DH will say "let's stay 2 more days" but I don't think that will happen. DH only wants to book the DING if he can book both parts at the same time. Is there a way I can convince him otherwise? I've seen plenty of times now, half the trip, and, then several days later, the other half.

Count me in as waiting for a Ding from BWI for Thanksgiving. But I'm actually not watching for a cheaper fare (tho' that would be great!). I'm watching for a better time. We got $79 flights and are currently scheduled to leave at 12:45. Would love to leave earlier...much earlier...crack-of-dawn earlier! Hope-hope-hoping for Ding to pop up for the 6:45 AM flight. :surfweb:

Afraid I can't help with info about booking and credits and such as this is my first experience flying SW. But a Customer Service lady advised me not to book a round trip. She said book each way separately. That way, if one leg comes up on a Ding, you only have to cancel that flight and not the whole reservation. :p

:rotfl: We got $79 each way last year at Thanksgiving (traveling the day before and then coming home 10 days later). Not as cheap as the fares we get for other times, but hey, it's the holidays!
