Hello,
We're looking for some feedback pls & thx.
First and foremost, we are not "foodies", we are not tyring to get dining rezzies at multiple restaurants on certain days etc.
The only real specific restaurant we want to do is the Cinderella's castle for Breakfast with the princesses.princess:

We have only been one other time 2 yrs ago to WDW and it was for a quick 2 night 1 park day kind of trip and we stayed at POR..the food court there was sufficient for our needs.

This trip however, we are looking into the BLT as a resort for a 7 night 6 day stay...then we are moving along to the port to do a 4 day Dream DCL cruise. We love the idea of being close/walking distance to MK!

What we need knowledge/help with is food advice for our DD (6yrs).
She is a toast and fresh fruit kind of breakfast kid.
For lunch is a quick service kind of eater with chicken fingers/fries or burger and fries.
For supper , we can usually find something for her at a table service restaurant.

So...Question::confused3 where would we find breakfast for her...toast or pancakes and fresh fruit for example? Would we have to catch the monorail somewhere? Go to the MK?

For the time we are going Feb 27th-Mar 6, the only "deal available right now is the DDP...I won't pass it up if it is free, but we probably would do better with a room discount and just pay as we go dining.

So here is a specific question...Does Disney allow us to book with the free DDP and if a code comes out with a room discount, can we "switch" our promotion and forego the DDP for the room discount? ( I am assuming to 'switch' they would require space to be available and for it to be prior to our final payment date.)

Thanks for reading if you got this far in this rambling post... we do appreciate any feedback!

Well there are no counter service locations or any restaurants located inside Bay Lake Tower, so your only option for a counter service location would be the Contempo Cafe which is loctaed on the 4th floor of the Contemporary Tower.

I don't believe you will see a room discount for BLT. It is rare for a DVC resort. If you book a DVC resort using cash, I believe that you can get the dining plan. But you will probably save money if you can rent points from a member. Cheaper room, but no free dining.

The Contempo Cafe is just across the bridge at the Contemporary. It has quite a few options for breakfast. We've always found something decent there. Keep in mind that since BLT is a DVC resort, you will have some cooking facilities. If you reserve a studio, it will just be a microwave oven, toaster, coffee pot and refrigerator but we've found that adequate to do a quick breakfast for all of us. Cold cereal, toast, fresh fruit, bagels, etc. You can arrange grocery delivery or make a grocery stop if you have a rental car.

Thanks for your response... so would this contempo cafe have toast and fresh fruit? Say could be pop in and find an apple or banana??

I'm going to disagree with the PP about possible discounts at BLT. I've been "shopping" with the WDW site for a couple of different trips...one in Sept and one in Jan both during the discount period. I've found rooms at BLT for cheaper than the Contemporary or the Polynesian as in around $1200 for a five-night stay. So, they do exist.

Thanks Sharonabe! That is indeed good news! I too am a shopper and I will Lurk around the website every few days to see what I can find!! :thumbsup2
