Digital Express Passes With Online Check-in

An update at the Touringplans website states that, for Portofino Bay and Aventura, you can check in via the Universal app using your booking number and receive digital Express Passes "for participating hotels." The update further states that guests at other onsite hotels can check in using a Loews web link.

This is the first I've heard of premier hotel express passes that did not require showing up in person at the hotel. Has anyone done this for a Portofino booking? The update language seemed to suggest that you can't do this yet at the other two EP hotels, I suppose because the Loews site can't "give" you a digital EP whereas the Universal app can.

I don't know, but happy to see they're letting at least some reservations link in the App. I was able to link an Aventura reservation booked via the AP booking page.

This is great for guests who just want the EP without the actual room cards. That would avoid a lot of running and crowding the check-in area in the morning. We are at Hard Rock now and no digital EP are offered yet.

It appears that they only scan your EP once in your first park, and the rest is just facial recognition. You no longer need to wear a lanyard all day long.
