Difficuly getting VB and HH

We have decided to buy into DVC, and are just looking for the right contract right now.
Some of the appeal of DVC is the ability to do VB and HH instead of, (or in combination with), WDW every so often.

What times of year are difficult to book for these two resorts? Our dds are 3 and 16m, so now we have some flexibility but won't always when they start school.

We would either do a studio or 1bd. Is the summer out of the question without 11m window?

I'm only guessing here, but I think HH summer without the 11 month window will be tough. I think VB will be a little easier, but grand villas/beach cottages are a pipe dream.

Again, I'm only guessing.
I always book my Vero at 11 months, and have only stayed at HH using cash.

I did a studio at about the 7 month mark for our last week of Aug trip (4 days)
Then DM and DSf decided to go so I booked another one at about the 6month mark.
The following week I canceled both and got a 2bdrm

I booked HH for this upcoming August at the 7 month mark without a problem....got a one bedroom which is exactly what we wanted!

We have in the past had no problem booking a VB the 7 month mark. We are booked at HH this June and did it at 7 months also (DBD). That being said, If you really think you will be spending the majority of your time at the beach resorts (we do) you might want to seriously consider one as your home.

I say this because with SSR, AKV, and CRV coming later, there will be many many additional members and no additional beach properties. It is inevitable in my mind that it is going to become real hard to book the (small) beach resorts in the future.

I think HHI is always a little harder to book in peak months than VB because it has a shorter summer season.

We have booked 1 bed at the 7 mnth mark at both Vero and HH for July stays.............but I did do it day by day to make sure!!!!! HH was full during our stay, not sure about Vero.

Does anyone know how much it is per night for a 1 bed at HH in the summer?
