differnet transportation available from disney to universal

Could you give me some names of car services you have used in the past. Need opinions on who to use or not to use. I really want to keep the cost as low as possible. If at all possible could you post a link also.

There will be 5 of us.

What is the car seat law for Florida? My 5-year-old is 56 pounds and does not use one here in Alabama.

Would a taxi be as cheaper or cheaper than a car service.

I know about Mears and really do not want to use them if at all possible. We want to be more flexible than Mears will let you be (ie leaving at our time not theirs).

A taxi would not be the cheaper way to go, it is going to cost you at least $55.00 round trip plus tip. You then have to worry about getting caught in traffic etc which will make the trip even higher.
We rented a car for the day, the cost was about $50.00 with taxes and we could come and go as we pleased.
Years ago we used Tiffany Town Car to take us to Universal, I just checked their website and the cost is $70.00 round trip for a van, which you will need with 5 people. When we used them we called them about an hour or so before we were ready to leave and we set a pick up time, it worked out well. I'm not sure how they handle it now.
I had called Mears the year we ended up renting a car, and really they were pretty flexible. You told them what time you wanted to be picked up and then we were told that we would have to call them 2 hours before we wanted to be picked up, I think that their cost is 15.00 per person so your up to $70.00 again.
I do not know anything about car seat laws in FL, so I can not help you there.
