Different kind of Disney Movie Club question...

My DS is now 14, and almost all of our Disney movies are on vhs. I would like to work on gradually replacing them with dvd or blue ray, and the Disney Movie Club looks like a great way to do that.

My question is about changing technology. I really have no need for the movies now, but I would like to have a nice collection by the time my DS has kids....way down the road!

What are the chances that dvd and blueray will still be used that far down the road? Do you think they are here to stay or there will be some new sort of format by then?

Thanks for your insight and opinions!

I think blu-ray will be around awhile and blu-ray players can also play dvds. The next big thing is and will continue to be digital copies where no disc or physical storage device is needed

Anytime we can get a "combo pack" we do. It includes a DVD, blu ray disc, and a digital copy most of the time.

I'd go with blue ray. We love the movie club and while we do not yet have a blue ray player we are now buying those disk because they come with a dvd copy and we will eventually get one.
