Different arrival times-I arrive later and have the Magic Bands...

Hi all. I am meeting my friend on 12/12 at POP. She is flying in from Oregon and I am flying in from CT. She arrives about 4 hours before me but I had the magic bands shipped to me without even thinking! Will she be able to check into the hotel and get into her room without her magic band?

Yes. They can give her a card. She will have to get a paper voucher from the DME desk in the airport if you're using DME. And if the room is not ready she can just wait for you. I don't know what the deal is with entering a park though...the card may be able to do that also.

If you can I agree with the PP's you should mail her the MB if you can!

Otherwise you can fax/email her the DME paperwork so she can at least bypass the DME check in desk, they will scan the barcode instead of a MB.

Not sure how they will handle the room access, I was told by the CM checking me in last month that they really don't like issuing "room keys" as it can cause glitches with MDE, maybe they will give her a grey band?

If she wants to use the DME luggage delivery feature I would send her the yellow bag tags as well as the MB, otherwise she can give her airline bag claim tags to DME and they will still deliver them. Although depending on your arrival times the room may not be ready until you arrive anyway.

They were shipped a few days ago. I think they'll be here by the end of this week.

Yes the card can be linked to your mde so it'll be a hard ticket for the parks also.

My friend and I are arriving the 11th and are in the same situation. I got our magic bands in on Monday. Our flights only land an hour apart so I am just going to hang around MCO and wait on her, but I am mailing her the yellow ME tag for her bag!

We had a situation similar to that last week with part of the party arriving at different times.

Even if you send your friend her MB, and you do the online checkin, she should stop at the desk when she gets to the resort to make sure her band is authorized to open the room door. But, they will be able to take care of that, either with the MB or by giving her a card that can serve as the room key.

If she has a MB from a previous trip, that will work too (as long as a new MDE profile wasn't created). A previous MB will access the same info from MDE.

When I was in that situation, I just shipped the bands to the other people.
