I was looking at amenities between Value resorts and Moderates. Value resorts have luggage service and Moderates hae bell service. What is the difference? Does luggage service mean I can't get help with getting luggage to my room? And will I be able to call to have them come in the morning to bring my luggage to the front desk? I always tip them for the help.

Not sure of all of the differences. I know that luggage services at the values closes up at about midnight and doesn't open again until the morning, but that bell services at the moderates and deluxes is a 24-7 operation.

I just saw a post listing hours for Bell Services and it wasn't 24/7 because it was stated that when they were off duty, you could get a manager to assist with retrieving luggage if you needed to.

I may be wrong but I think the difference is luggage service you have to take the luggage to them yourself and they store it for you where as bell service they come get it for you.

I'm thinking that luggage service are the ones that store the bags for you. The bell service are the ones that can take the bags to your room or have them bring down to the lobby or to your car. The valet is just that, one who will park your car or get your car.

I've stayed at the Value resorts several times...and if you need help with your luggage on the day of check out, you can get it. I think they ask for a one day advance notice.

Bell Service is more or less instantaneous, depending on staffing: you call to get your luggage delivered, someone is dispatched as quickly as possible. Ditto for getting your bags picked up. Also, as far as I know :) and despite the other post referred to in a post above, Bell Service is available 24 hours.

Luggage Assistance is less personalized. They deliver (then pick up) trolleys of luggage on a reportedly regular schedule - twice an hour. Not open midnight to six or so, but as indicated above, a Resort Supervisor can get your luggage. You have to haul it, though.

Both versions will store luggage before your room is ready, or between checkout and when you leave.
