FACEBOOK GROUP

I just wanted to let you know that I started a Facebook group for this cruise. For our last few cruises it has been nice to connect with people on FB before the cruise too.

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/group.php?gid=115572298493286

On our last cruise a lot of people found the DIS boards through the FB group. It makes it nice to meet new people that do not know about the boards already.

Thanks for the FB page, I just joined!

Hi there, Long Beach is such a great little airport, no huge crowds, terminals and the like. It is small but efficient and close to both LA and OC (pretty much right in the middle). I hate having to fly through LAX but find it necessary on some trips, to avoid plane changes. Santa Ana/John Wayne is the other option, located in OC, but of course not as close to San Pedro and Long Bea
LOVE when DH flies in and out of Long Beach. We're 5 minutes from there, so whoever will be staying in that area before cruise, we can have a 'meet' there.:grouphug:

YAY! So is everyone (who will be in the area), up for a meet the night before at the Double Tree? :goodvibes

I will be flying into Ontario a few days early to visit my sister who lives in Cali and dh will fly in Friday evening and we will be checking into the hotel probably late afternoon.

Question: for those who live near port- is Orange County or LAX closer to fly out of? Asking because after our cruise we will have to choose and airport to use and I don't think Long Beach will be an option.

How many of you are seated together for the dining? Or do you just let DCL assign that?
We aren't seated with anyone from the DIS yet....;) On our past cruises we have usually linked our ressie with fellow cruisers a few months out. I think most disers wait until they see who they "click" with on the thread?:confused3 or who has children around the same age if they are traveling with children.

With that being said...dh and I will be traveling with "TWO little ones, ages 3 and almost 5, LOL. CAN NOT GUARANTEE GOOD BEHAVIOR DURING DINNER BUT WILL DO OUR BEST." Any takers??? Just kidding!:rotfl:

And I'll have my DS19 with us, so anyone with DD 17-19, look us up :goodvibes

OK, back from Tahoe. Joined the FB group and sent my pic and info to Travelbee. Thanks to all who put the additional sites together!

Pirate Sail & Snorkel Adventure (6.5 hours)
Meeting Time: 8:00am
YO HO! It's the pirate life aboard the Marigalante. You'll be welcomed aboard this "pirate ship" by the congenial captain and crew. You'll be served breakfast, watch the sails be hoisted, and cheer for your favorite contestant in the pirate contest. There's lots of fun in store as you set sail for the two hour voyage to Majahuitas Beach. You'll drop anchor at this secluded spot and have 2 hours to swim, surf and sun. There's a sand sculpturing contest, beach volleyball and other games for you to enjoy. You'll head back onboard the Marigalante for a delicous barbecue lunch. During your two hour cruise back to the port, the captain and crew will put on a pirate show with fun contests for you to take part in.
Price: $62.00 (ages 10 and up), $52.00 (ages 3 - 9)

It looks like it would be lots of fun:yay:
Of couse Lea will just have turned 10 by then and she'll be considered an Adult on all disney's excursions:eek:

We did this excursion 5 years ago when we sailed MR with DCL. TONS OF FUN!!!! Totally worth it!

Brooklyn & Auntshell - both of you were on the 4-26 med cruise! Have you already met at a cruise meet on the last trip? If airfare isn't so expensive, we'd be heading back to the med instead of MR... absolutely loved our trip in May.

I don't remember meeting Brooklyn and family, but we only went to the first DIS board meeting on the Ship...well Veronica and I did. We did recognize some of the DIS members, meet a few people on a couple of port trips and flew home with some fellow Canadians. We were really busy doing Port Excursions ...etc....on our cruise......=) Would love to do the Med Cruise again any time....so so beautiful....=)

So did you love the Med Cruise as much as we did?

There will be 5 of us...it's DBIL John & DH Danny we'll have to worry about. :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Website update: Added roll call photo for Amy (amyamya).

I'd recommend flying into Long Beach if that's an option and the price is comparable. The port (San Pedro) is sort of between Long Beach and LAX so either will work. Orange County is bit further but definitely within driving distance and the airport is nice, plus closer to DLand if you're planning to visit the park.

So did you love the Med Cruise as much as we did?

We LOVED the Transatlantic. I enjoyed the Med but I feel it could have been a longer cruise. If I could do it again (which we almost did) I would do the Med 1st and then have the relaxing 14 night cruise. The first 14 nights were SOOOOOOOOOOOOO relaxing and then it was just GO GO GO and then it was all over! :sad1:

Hi there,

LAX would be a little closer to San Pedro (not counting traffic!!). I live about 5 minutes from the OC airport/John Wayne and it takes about 40 minutes for me to get to Long Beach. OC airport seems to be a bit pricier though. I usually use LAX because the fares tend to be cheaper and less layovers.

Michelle - I will take you up on that offer! ;) Ours will be 4 and 2, so I think they would have lots of fun together and maybe, just maybe let us enjoy a meal. My sister and family were supposed to go with us, but they are thinking of cancelling since they aren't big Disney fans. Yes, I know, awful:laughing:

I hope everyone has a great weekend. We are off to pick up DD from camp and then heading to Disneyland!

We are finally going to get to see World of Color tonight!!!

Then on Sunday we are looking forward to meeting Susan and her daughter! :cool1:
