Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

If we bring a case of water, do we have to put it in checked luggage or carry it on? How does that work?

Thanks.

I searched here and a there was a post that said that they reinforced it with packaging tape. We can do that or I thought maybe put it in a rolling duffle?

Evian is 35 a case. WAY too much. I can buy a case of water for 2.99 plus crv here.

Wow.. water is that expensive... I guess that's the price I will pay coming from Jersey... Have a question... When the ship docks at Cabo, are there beaches close enough to go to or do I have to book an excursion?

Can we bring a case of water with us? Will they let us. I don't want to have to buy water while on excursions...etc I know on the other cruises we bought a case on the ship but since we live local I would rather bring one since it is cheaper.

THANKS!

Jill
We have brought a case of water with us on every cruise (out of FL). It was never a problem, just put a luggage tag on it and the porters would take it. I thought I read somewhere recently that the porters were not taking the water. They are not contracted through Disney (who says no water in checked luggage) so didn't really care what you checked as long as you tipped them. I could be wrong but I really think this is what I read. I would post on the main boards and ask recent cruisers out of LA.

Since everyone has been hyping up the water on board this will be the first cruise where we don't take our own case. We'll just fill up water bottles at the drink station.

I consider myself a water snob....there are only a few types of bottled waters I will drink...won't even drink our own water from our well...but I did drink the water on board our last cruise and thought it tasted fine. So, I think we are going with the water at the drink stations as well....and we might bring some vitamin packets to mix in them occasionally. I would much rather save room for the bottles of wine in my carryon then water bottles!:rotfl2::thumbsup2

YAY, another water snob! Well, I'm glad that you thought it tasted fine, that seems to be the same as everyone else I've ask. I too would like the extra room in my carry on for some vino.:thumbsup2 I am also a wine snob and am actually going to bring boxes of wine, seriously. I heard that they had improved drastically from the college days (:rotfl2:) and have been sampling them over the last couple of months. The are SO much lighter to carry than bottles, save lots of room and one box equals 4 bottles!:goodvibes

My name is Sandy and I'm a filtered water snob. But on a ship their water is just fine IMHO. Yes make room for the booze!! :goodvibes

In Cabo, Medando beach is the popular one which is close to the tender area. I think might be a tad bit to walk to from what I have read. You can grab a taxi or water taxi to take you there. That is what we will be doing,

Thanks Michelle. Since we are driving, I will throw a luggage tag on some water I pick up at Sams. If they refuse to take it for some reason, I will just donate it to the porters and drink water from the tap.

Yeah.....:goodvibes....I am not alone in my snobbiness! :thumbsup2
As for the wine...last trip to FL we packed 2 boxes of wine and a plastic bottle of captain morgan. They flew fine, made it on and off the dream and kept our thirst quenched through the whole trip! It was a great way to travel...and save $$. We did a black box white and big house red. There was one brand that tastes good but the sales person told us the boxes leaked, so we didn't get that one....I think it was bandit.

Hmmm, all this speak of boxed wine. I'm not sure I'm ready to take that leap. I really enjoy a sweet Gawertz or late Reisling and I'm doubting that a frantic trip to Target will find me a box of wine that compares...or am I wrong?

Tonight at work I am finishing the FE group 1/half list necklaces and I'll be amazed if they have a life span of one whole day if anyone's child is as rough as mine are with them. They are cute to look at, though! :cutie:

We bring our own bottles for water fillup and some water bottles. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley Ca. and tap water was NOT drinkable...still isn't (I visit often and sometimes make that grave mistake of drinking tap water). I remember when I moved to Denver and I couldn't find anyone's water in their fridge, I asked at a holiday party "hey, where do you keep your water?" The whole room froze and stared at me. The answer in Denver, "in the tap!" Duh, Rocky Mtn Spring water...it really is yummy from the tap. Culture shock at it's best!!

OMG just a few short days and we can talk about our boxed wine IN PERSON! Woohoo!!

today is spa day,we leave TOMORROW!!!
safe travels everyone, see you all on sunday.:grouphug:

Today is washing, ironing, packing day and last minute errands day. I am actually taking a day off from work, ruining my perfect attendance record! But as DH said on his way out the door... We are this () close to vacation!

See you real soon!

Good choice and very smart man. :thumbsup2

Now that my FE (finally) arrived, I put in my hold mail request with the post office. Another thing for the checklist: holding mail and newspapers.

Everyone who's heading out early - have a safe trip! See you soon :goodvibes

I can't believe after all these months of waiting that our cruise is finally almost here. :cool1: Finished my last day at work today and now I need to get packing!

We will be leaving from NJ on Sunday.. only 50% packed... will be a very stressful weekend... :woohoo:

Yes everyone, safe travels. I guess there will only be a handful of us around tomorrow and tomorrow night. I have no internet access once we leave Sat. morning, I think that is a good thing. I need a break from the computer.

I have the 3 kids packed and their bags downstairs. I am 50% done. I cannot believe all the extras I need to bring. I have a whole suitcase for: FE's, Easter baskets, stuffed Easter eggs, birthday gifts, I packed 25 goody bags for kids in Manzanillo (I hope their are kids at the port for these goody bags I am lugging with me, if not I will hand them out to the DIS kids) sand toys, secret mickey gifts, ugh--I am sure there is more I stuffed in there but cannot think of it.

You asked for it, you got it. Saturday's temps are forecast to be in the 80s.:goodvibes

Thanks Susan!! Looks like the temp drops a tad for Sunday and then into the 60's for the trip down the coast. Probably be a little chilly onboard. Good time to curl up in the Outlook Cafe with some coffee and a book.

I packed my kids suits for the Doubletree on Saturday. If we get there in good time, we will hit the pool. Okay, the kids will hit the pool and I will be outside supervising.
