Dietary Requirements in the Parks

I am travelling to Disneyland with my sister-in-law next year, and she is concerned there won't be enough food that she can eat on her pretty restrictive diet - no gluten, no dairy, no spicy foods. Does anyone know if you can request special foods, or what foods are available that she can eat?
Thanks

I'd suggest starting by looking through the menus on this site (http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/dining/menus.cfm) to see if there are already items on menus that would work. If nothing fits, all of the table service locations can make accommodations. You can call the dining line to ask to make arrangements in advance. If you end up at a place last minute, ask to speak to the chef before ordering.

Have a great trip!

Disneyland is really great! I'm on a pretty restrictive diet and emailed the dining people who let me know a chef wi come out and talk to me about issues and let me know what adjustments they can make.

My wife is very strict about gluten-free (she has Celiac) and we have always had a great time at DLR. Be sure to try the Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, everything (except the cornbread) is gluten free and should be dairy free as well, but be sure to check when you go in.

Can someone verify this? Last I had heard, the BBQ sauce wasn't gluten free.

The sauce is not gluten free, but they can make the chicken and sausage without the sauce. I think the ribs are smoked with sauce or a rub and can't be made special. I'm not sure if there's a dedicated grill for sauce free chicken, or if there's a cross contamination risk.

Our experience with dietary restrictions has been very good! We went with friends last August. One of them is allergic to gluten and dairy. Several places we ate made her special meals. The chef at Cafe' Orleans came out and spoke with her personally. It's so doable. Just ask a lot of questions.

If you have any reservations, call ahead and let them know what the dietary restrictions are. Disneyland will go out of their way to prepare something that will fit the diet. Counter service is a little more difficult, but always ask. Maybe even stop in City Hall on your way into Disneyland Park and ask for suggestions there.

We were there last September and the sauce was definitely gluten-free (they had changed it a few months earlier). Has it changed again to now contain gluten?

Thank you all so much I have sent her some links, and will make sure that I note her requirements on our reservations!

I only have experience eating Gluten Free in WDW, but I can assure you that they are the BEST at accommodating anyone's needs.

I will experience Disneyland in July and am looking forward to it!

OK, I contacted a friend in my Celiac group, who was at Disneyland this March, he had spoken to the chef (they always come out if you tell them you have a food allergy) and was informed that everything they serve for meals is gluten free - except the cornbread & they will bring out a basket of g-f rolls instead. Most desserts are not gluten-free, but since it is all-you-can-eat, who has room for dessert anyway!
