Hey Everyone,

Just got back from 8 nights at Disney and we were on the DxDP for 7 nights.

The Cast:

princess: Me, 28. LOVE Disney and Disney dining. Wasn't too happy with last year's Disney pics though and I've been on WW since September and have lost around 25 lbs (although it may be slighly less now :rotfl:). I decided for our Disney trip I wouldn't worry about points and would just enjoy myself. Which led to lots of good eating! :goodvibes

popcorn:: DBF, 28. Also loves some good eating at Disney. His favorites are the signature restaurants.

We were initially going to do the DDP but came to our senses and upgraded to the DxDP. :woohoo: We really liked it last year even though it is a lot of food! Here's the line-up!

I can't wait to see your pics and read more. I'm looking at doing some of the restaurants on your list for our upcoming Oct trip. :surfweb:

cant wait for all of your reviews especially narcossess we are eating there in sept for the first time for our anniversary dinner:)

Bring it on! Can't wait for Citrico's and Narcoossee's reviews since I'm trying to decide which one I want for my next trip!

Looking forward to reading your reviews. I lost 55 lbs. on WW over the last year and a half. Actually have been at my goal since Christmas. We're doing DDP for 4 nights and DxDP for 3 nights at the end of July. I don't want to put on too much weight so I'll try to be good...

Can't wait to read your reviews, we'll be enjoying 7 of those resturants for the first time this Aug :cool1: (we went to Jinko last trip and it was a must do repeat for us).

Pezaddict231...you would be surprised... we were on the DDP (not deluxe like you)...but we pretty much ate just as much (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and in hindsight we should have done the deluxe. We ate at Jiko's, Yachtsman, Chefs De France, CP, Flying Fish, Akershus, Columbia Harbor, ...oh, I can't remember but we were there for 8 days.

Anyway, Like you I am on WW. I started the 2nd week of May and had lost 10 pounds prior to going to DW the first week in June. At DW, I did not count points...didn't even bother, afterall, I was on vacation. We got back a day and a half before weigh in and I was afraid. So I did not go. Then...as the week was going by, my additude was...well I messed up in Disney...lets just keep going. You can imagine my shock when I weighed in the following Thursday and I was told that I lost 4.4 pounds...just another reason to keep going to Disney!!

Keep up with the WW...you are doing great!!

Thanks everyone! :goodvibes I have no idea how to do the multi-quote thing, so sorry for not giving more personal replies but thanks everyone for tuning in! I enjoy reading the dining reports (especially MickeyNicki and AlohaPolynesian!) so much I knew I just had to do one for our trip. I did get some funny looks in the restaurants, but it was totally worth it :thumbsup2!

Congrats to all my fellow WW'ers. I weigh in on Saturday, I'll be okay with a gain, but it's true, sometimes you'll be surprised. Although DBF is not always into desserts, so sometimes I ordered two for myself :rolleyes1.

Uploading to Photobucket as we speak! Will at least have an update for you up tonight! :goodvibes

Oooooh! I'm so excited to hear about the food you had. There are some great places on your list!

Day One: Poolside eats and dinner in the Castle

We were staying at CSR for one night before our 4/3 package started at the GF. Since we weren't on the DxDP yet, we figured we would just get some food by the pool. The Dig pool is really nice. Siestas is the bar and small grill type place there. We decided to split an order of Chicken fingers with Fries and a soft pretzel. We had dinner reservations at CRT at 4 pm and it was already 1 pm so we didn't want to eat too much. DBF also got a diet soda and I got a strawberry smoothie. It was your basic CS food, the chicken fingers were good and actual chicken fingers, not chicken smaller "nugget" pieces like they have at most CS places now. The soft pretzel was pretty good. I really enjoyed the smoothie. I don't like dairy smoothies and this one definitely wasn't a dairy smoothie. It was nice and refreshing and just what I needed on a hot day. All in all a good poolside place to get a meal. Service was quick and friendly. We would go back if staying at that resort.

Cinderella's Royal Table:

This was the first restaurant we ever went to as a couple at WDW, so we've always liked it. We checked in and got in line for our picture with Cinderella. We did have to wait a few minutes for her as we were the first ADR time. She was very gracious and seemed to be especially good with the kids in the restaurant.

After our picture they led us upstairs and seated us at the table in the center window that overlooks Cinderella's carousel and it was fun to watch the kids try to pull the sword from the stone.

I just love the atmosphere here and how pretty it is. I know some people feel uncomfortable with the "my Lord" and "my Lady" stuff but I thought it was fine and DBF didn't mind it at all. I even joked that he was going to tell our server: "Actually, I would prefer that you address me as 'Your Grace', that's more befitting my stature!"

Bread - they don't have the pretzel rolls anymore :sad1: but they did serve a nice sourdough roll that was nice and warm when it came out.

Appetizers:

We both started with the Castle Salad - Mixed Field greens with Blue Cheese, Raspberries and Candied Walnusts tossed in a Berry Vinaigrette

IMG_0143.jpg

This is my kind of salad, I love mixed greens and blue cheese. DBF enjoyed it too, although he didn't like the actual raspberries (there were only two anyway). I also liked how it was topped with toasted bread crumbs, added just enough crunch but wasn't overwhelming.

Entrees:
princess: I had the Roast Lamb Chops with au gratin potatoes, Vegetable Ragout, and drizzled with a Herb Pesto

IMG_0144.jpg

It was cooked more than medium but it was actually really tasty and I enjoyed it a lot. They also give you a nice big portion of lamb. The potatoes were tasty and I didn't eat much of the vegetable ragout. The pesto does make the dish a little oily, it didn't bother me at all and I thought the flavor was very good.

popcorn:: DBF got the Roast Prime Rib of Beef with grilled asparagus, roasted fingerling potatoes and a cabernet sauce

IMG_0145.jpg

Prime rib is not his favorite since he doesn't really like the fattier cuts of meat, but he said it was pretty good. Sorry for the weird coloration, it's from the windows.

Dessert:

They cleared all our dishes away and I was thinking about whether I should have the cream cheese buckle or something a little lighter when our server comes out with a domed plate and says that my prince has ordered me a special dessert. Well it wasn't a dessert at all but a beautiful glass slipper on a bed of rose petals and inside the slipper is an engagement ring on a rosebud :lovestruc. It looked a little like this but better:

You'll have to settle for my recreation since I don't have the photopass pics of everything yet. So DBF asked me to marry him and I said yes. Everyone clapped for us. Then they brought out some champagne flutes and the photopass photographer took a ton of pics. I guess it wasn't really champagne since they don't serve liquor in the MK, but I didn't notice at the time. It was really sweet and romantic.:cloud9:

After all the hoopla they really did bring out a special dessert.

IMG_0146.jpg

This was really good, the sponge cake was really moist and the berries were so fresh. The Fairy Godmother and the mice came out and did their little song and dance, it was really cute.

They also boxed everything up for us, the champagne flutes, slipper, wishing stars, wand and sword with some rose petals and castle confetti.

We would definitely go back again sometime. I know it is not the best use of dining credits on the DxDP but there's just something so special about eating in the Castle!

Up next: Day 2: Breakfast with the Donald and the Greatest Server in all of Disney!

Oh wow! How romantic! Getting engaged in the castle...:cloud9:

CONGRATULATIONS!

I'm looking forward to your dining review, but I'll have to read it over the 4th of July holiday because in a few hours I'm off to the airport for our own DxDP stay!

Woo hoo!

Congrats again!!!!

Congratulations!!! What a romantic proposal - and your ring is gorgeous!

I'm enjoying the reviews thus far, too.
