Well in answer to your prayers - there is alittle pill after all.
BUT FIRST - warning to anyone using Xenadrine or any diet pills that contains "bitter orange extract." This "orange" is almost as deadly sa ephedra but not as openly. Allow me to explain - bitter orange extract causes your metabolism to go faster and indoing so raises your BP to deadly numbers. A friend of mine took Xenadrine for 2 weeks - her normal BP was very low - 90 over 60. Within 3 days of taking Xenadrine her BP was 135 over 90 and no one could figure out why. She read an article in Consumer Reports about it and took it to her doctor. At first he pooh-poohed the idea but by the 2nd week her BP was 180 over 130 and she ended up in the hospital with a mild heart attack at age 29. She stopped taking the Xenadrine and it took over a year for her BP to get back to her normal.
OK, there is a pill that was discovered by the Dutch, I think, it has no side effects. It's been available for there for the past 5 years. It also stops smoking. It is curently being testing in this country - at West Virginia University Hospital, Johns Hopkins, and I think the Mayo Clinic. They (the FDA) say it should be available (if all goes well) by 2005. Hope this helps.
