She was probably yanking your chain. I did that once to a player who annoyed me in a stitch hat trading room. I had a "guest" with Stitch hat go into his room and ask if anyone had a bird hat. The guy bit and opened a trade window and asked if my stitch hat was for trade. I said it was for a bird hat. We then left the window so I could take it off, whereupon I promptly opened a trade window with a mule. After a few seconds, I closed the windows and said "ty" and the annoying guy opened a trade window with me again and asked for the stitch hat. I then showed him my "new" pirate bird hat and said the other guy traded me the bird hat first. It was silly and childish, and didn't really teach him a lesson, but it sure must have driven him nuts.
