This morning we ate at Boma for the breakfast buffet. It was excellent. They made us a special fruit juice to go along with the wonderful selection of breakfast foods. We saved 20% again with our DDE. This was also the morning we moved to the BCR. We checked in and they gave us a first floor room with a patio that looked straight across the boardwalk. We had ducks(that ate right out of your hand), lizards, a squirrel, rabbit and baby rabbit, baby black snake and its mother all on our patio at one time or another. We loved the ducks. My oldest son was freaked out by the snake. I have to say here too, that I was not too impressed with the BCR. We had paid rack rate, which didn't help so I had high expectations, and because of receiving that second room free of charge at the AKL, didn't help. It was hard to go from having the oldest son have his own bathroom and bedroom to five people sharing everything. UGH!! The room had areas that I felt should be refurbished and the maid did a "quick" job every day in cleaning. I continually saw areas that were dirty still dirty after she had "cleaned". I did leave a very nice Mousekeeping envelope every morning for them and left a little note on the outside if we needed more towels, blankets, etc. and they did honor that. Checked out the pool area which was nice, but here again, the bottom of one of the areas looked green and slimy and ducks were swimming in a roped off area that looked dirty too. I do like the location of the hotel though because of being able to walk to Epcot and MGM.
After checking in, we walked to Epcot. We did Honey I shrunk the audience, the boat ride in Norway and Mission Space(the two older sons did the original-I just couldn't bring myself to doing it) Later, we headed to MGM because we had dining reservations at the Sci-Fi Dine In. This is the third time we've eaten here. I know the food isn't the greatest but we go for the atmosphere. This time everyone enjoyed their food. My oldest son had the reuben sandwich with onion rings, youngest had a cheeseburger, my middle son had the rib plate, my husband the penne pasta and myself the BBQ chicken sandwich which they nicely put the BBq sauce on the side. Used DDE to save 20%.
We were all pretty tired this day and finished out the day by using the pool and had icecream at Beaches-n-cream. Could save 20% here also.
Just a note: while staying at the AKL, we found the bussing to be excellent. The bussing at BCR , however, was awful. Our normal wait was 20-30min. Then after waiting all that time, depending on where you're going or what form of transportation you're using(boat too), you may be picking up people from the Boardwalk, Blizzard Beach, Yacht, Swan, Dolphin. It was ridiculous! One day while waiting for a bus to pick us up from AK, we saw 11 AK/BB busses come till our 1 came. Must have been at least a 30 minute wait. Why does one bus ,that services all those places, seem to be fewer than other busses that don't have as many places to stop. It didn't make sense. Tomorrow AK...
