Does anyone have an eCraft Cutter? I have a circut mini but am intrigued by the no mat option as well as being able to cut true type fonts... The goods, bads & possibly ugly?? TIA

did not vote because I don't have one, but with out a mat the machine leaves a "perforation" around the cut to hold it to the paper. I am soo anal to have those fuzzy edges, would drive me crazy. :furious:

I have found if I re-sticky my mat with the Xyron repostional refills (like for the little X) that I have the perfect stick to my mats, and it lasts a long time. Just throwing that out there....

is that how it works?? I wondered how - that would make detail cutting a big pain
hmmm I need to restick several of mine at this moment

The other thing that bothers me is that I so badly want to be able to cut WaltoGraph Font and I can't... I wish I knew what to do I am so impulsive that when i decide to get something (as far as my crafting goes) I just do it without weighing my options.. I'm trying very hard to resist right now lol

oh I love that font - thankfully I got SCAL2 before that stupid lawsuit - I'm thinking of getting the cameo when miy cricut breaks

The no mat option is very appealing to me, but I could not deal with fuzzy edges. Ever.

I'm getting a Cameo when my Cricut dies (I do have an E2, because I'm too heavily invested in cartridges to NOT have one, but I love my SCAL).

I didn't vote either because I have a cricut, use it with scal2 and cds for carts and just got a cameo, use scal3 and their software. I like being able to do my own designs. I use cricut carts for already made, ready to go stuff.

Mats don't bother me. I just re stick them but they do get to a point where I need a new one to get the really intricate cuts to come out right. I heard the cameo ones last longer. And I just saw today where cricut has redesigned their mats. They look more like the cameo ones now.

I just got my mini. So no Scal for me. :( I have no idea what to do!!! Grrrr I don't want to be totally restricted!!!

I don't have one either but my friend does. She was also intrigue by the no mat option but didn't like being limited to one paper at a time when cutting. It was not a big deal if she was cutting a title but anything that needed to be pieced together took a while since it was one color/pattern at a time.

I have an older cricut/make the cut software but if I were to buy a new machine now I would get a Cameo. It has amazing reviews, it's not too expensive, works with third party software and has an online store where you can buy images (there are restrictions about using them on things you sell if that's a concern).

Not to hijack this thread, but I am also trying to decide which machine to purchase. I am leaning toward the silhouette cameo. If I go with that, which software should I use? Their professional version software or SCAL? So confused.... I have a neice that is having a Minnie Mouse birthday, so I would love to help with the decorations. In addition, we are taking a disney cruise, so I would like to make some FE gifts. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I been told the professional version will use svgs so either program should be fine - I would take a look at each trail version & see which one you like better

Thank you! I am pretty excited to get one and get started!

I guess I will look into the Cameo, I was looking at the eCraft bc I could get it from HSN and make payments on it... Thank you everyone!
