didn't realize that the disney restaurants are on a different system. i tried to make adr's for a large group. disney dining advised that i had to contact the restaurant directly due to such a large group (26). the restaurant advised me that i had to wait for the 180 day window exactly. that though i am staying on site the 180 + 10 is not allowed when you try to book directly. apparently, disney doesn't allow the restaurant access to that system. don't know the logic except maybe they don't want people trying to sneak in early adr's because i assume the restaurants have no access to the reservation system thus can't verify confirmation numbers. but then how would they know my arrival date to know when my 180 day is. a little confused. restaurant in question is teppan edo.

Teppan Edo is not a Disney-operated restaurant. Possibly they handle large group reservations differently from the way Disney does.

It appears that because the size of your group is such that you have to deal with the restaurant directly, the plus 10 booking is not relevant. You have to wait until exactly 180 days from the day you want to dine there. Not sure if it would be different at a Disney-operated restaurant.
