They thought I might have black eyes as a baby but they turned brown around 2 (still very dark but brown). His seem like they might stay. My great grandmother had black eyes her whole life and ds is the first of all her heirs to get them.

We lived in an apartment with really thin carpet over a concrete floor. He was crying, of course, and started vomiting. I called the pedi and the lady asked me if his pupils were equal.........I said, "Hold on, I can't really see his pupils" and she got really panicked, "You mean his pupils are dilated all the way?!?" I said, "No, wait a minute, we have to take him outside, we just can't see them because his irises are so dark!" (He was fine, btw).

Strangely her younger sister who has red hair also has very dark brown eyes. They were much lighter and as she has gotten older they keep getting darker, but they will never be as dark as her older sisters I don't think.
My oldest eyes have always just been black.

This pic was taken last year of my dd. You can see her dark eyes well in it.
