Did you think things would be less stressful when your kids were out of high school?

I think that if my dd makes good decisions during her college years and marries well (I don't mean marries a wealthy man but rather the right man for her) that I will worry a lot less about her. i don't think my parents have had to worry about me much since i married but now they worry about my dd because she's the first grandchild to reach the teen years.

Ummmmm.. Sorry - but once they're married you not only get to worry about them , but also your new son-in-law or daughter-in-law, and the grandchildren..

I hate to be the bearer of sad tidings, but "once a mother, always a mother" and you'll be worrying about them until you take your very last breath..

I have DD in college and DD in high school. They claim I am a born worrier. If there is nothing to worry about I think about it until I find something to worry about. Including that decisions now thing........they are great kids (IMHO) but what if they do decide to drink, smoke, uh, you know what else. Maybe it's time to try that whole denial thing!!!!

First of all, tc, I have to say the following: I've seen postings by you before (I remember your picture but not content, sorry) and this post just blew me away to find out you have children that old! LOL!

Second, in answer to your question - I go along with all the other moms here. I have one son, just 18, freshman at a local college, and my hair is turning grayer with each passing day! And at work, a colleague (who has a son one year older than mine) and I take turns sharing our most current "worry" stories!
