I don't have time to go through this thread. I just want to say, WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE WORLD THESE DAYS!?

I just saw on the morning news, a student started beating the crap out of her art teacher. One kid taped it, others were cheering, only one went and got help!

Blech. I just don't understand sometimes.

I want to apologize for my comments the other night. We were goofing around here and it got out of hand. I just read back and am shocked at what I wrote - I hope Nutty will accept my apology.

This has made me so sick. That poor girl. I can only imagine.

One more reason for me to make sure the parents are home when my kids go to other peoples houses even if they are teens, actually especially because they are teens. I feel to many parents stop parenting once their kids reach a certain age and thats when the real bad problems start.

It was just announced ALL the kids would be charged as adults.

They're all being charged with kidnapping and battery & 3 of them are being charged with witness tampering....

Personally I hope they get what they gave, but that's just me...

Nope, it's not just you. I hope so too. And I am so glad they are all getting charged as adults.

I don't either. And it makes me really scared when I think about the kind of world my four kids are growing up in.

I think that depends upon what you think the job of a defense lawyer is. To get their clients off, even the guilty ones. Or to see that the law and justice are upheld on both sides of the courtroom.

Personally I think that it is the job of the attorneys on both sides of the Isle to do their best to uphold law and justice. Which in this case would mean that a good lawyer would require their clients to plead guilty (let's get real, there isn't a whole lot of room for doubt here.) and to see that during sentencing their clients rights are upheld. Of course the families will probably hire the other kind of scumbag attorney who will just do their best to get these little animals released back onto the street.

Everyone has the right to be defended. Its the lawyers job reguardless if the defendent is guilty or not guilty to defend them.
Its a hard job but someone has to do it.
Setting personal feelings aside, they are getting paid to do their job.

So if he happened to be a Dr. who was operating on a say rapist, who was dying, would you be ripping him a new one for doing his job? And saving someones life? Would that also make the DR. a scumbag? just sayin....

With that said, what happened is awful.
No one should have to go through that.
I believe they should be get the same beating they put that poor girl through.
But will that happen? Not likely.
With any chance they will get charged as adults.

But I am not sure that any justice will be enough for what they have done to her.
