Im guessing that the boy is her brother who we will see shortly, maybe he is in care or something??? I did feel sorry for her.
I cant believe Pat changed her story, Frank soon learnt the truth about her tho!!

I think Franks supposed to live in Manchester - everyone in Eastenders who doesn't get killed off goes to live in Manchester, like everyone in Neighbours goes to Melbourne!!
