That a flat iron for straightening hair will work in a pinch . The collar on DD's golf shirt was sticking up and needed to be ironed down. I plugged in the iron and it wouldn't heat up . Her flat iron worked though.

Well, there is that too.

I also used her hair dryer to get some of the major wrinkles out of the body of her shirt too. It worked better than I thought. I didn't want to use the Downy wrinkle release because the scent would attract bugs while she is out golfing.

The biggest bummer is that I LOVED that iron-well as much as anyone can love ironing I guess. It is 15 years old so it had a good, long life. Now I have to find a new one that is as good.

OH my goodness, I use my flat iron all the time to straighten out DH's collars on golf shirts! I'd hate to have to drag the iron out every time!

When I used to use a curling iron (I know, that dates me!) I would use it to straighten my clothes, It isn't as effective as a straight iron, but we didn't have it back then! And if it is already hot then why get out the big iron?

Which is what gave me the idea in the first place . I just picked up a newer model of my now dead iron so no more iron crises in the morning.
