I've been getting mixed opinions on this. Did you invite the Minister and his wife to your Rehearsal Dinner?

I guess it would be the polite thing to do(this is my late mother channelling through me :rotfl: ), but how well do you really know them? It's not like us where we got to know ours fairly well before the wedding(he substituted a few meetings for the weekend retreat, )

We are from NY and NJ and will be traveling down to Florida for our FTW this November. There will be about 60 people at our wedding. Our rehersal dinner will only be with our bridal party, both our fathers and DF's brother and his family and sister and her family. I am an only child so no siblings. I don't know if we should invite the officient to this dinner. Do they usually get invited?

We were originally going to do a Rehersal/Welcome dinner but I think it will just get too big considering the amount of people invited to the wedding. I am going to have everyone else meet us at the Skat Cat Club in Port Orleans French Quarter after our dinner in 'Ohana.

are you close with this person, or is it someone that you picked off disney's list? we are inviting him to ffil's dinner because we're bringing him from tx with us and he's a personal friend of my fil's...

if i was hiring someone from disney's list, then i wouldn't invite them...

He's someone from Disney's list. I've spoken once on the phone, and i've emailed his wife a few times.

I wasnt planning to invite them, but if its something everyone does then I dont have a problem. I figured it'd be kinda awkward since everyone else will know each other.

I would think that they would decline... they probably have so many events they can't possibly attend them all.

So maybe I should send an invitation just to be polite, and if they feel comfortable going then they can?

That might be what I would do Kristen. Give them the opportunity to bow out. Our situation is totally different. We are bringing our own officiant, and therefore he will attend all of our events as a guest. But in your case, I would say, offer the invitation.

Time is moving along very quickly. Your beautiful wedding will be here before you know it. Just relax and take it all in during your special time. I know it can tend to be stressful, but remember you are joining your life with your special fella and nothing could be better than that. Relax and enjoy your time. (and take lots of pictures so you can share with your friends here at the DIS :rotfl: )
