The main neighborhood “gang” didn’t have any kids older than me, with everyone being my age or up to two years younger. However, there were some younger siblings who tagged along at times or joined in to play baseball or football, and they were up to a few years younger than that.

Younger for me and older for my brother who is 3 yrs younger than me. We went to a small high school so my friends were my bro's friends and vice versa.

I didn't really make friends until I was adopted. I got moved from home to home dozens and dozens of times prior to that and it really didn't give me any chance to develop friendships. Once I gained the stability from the adoption I was able to establish some friendships that still exist today. Certainly not as close as we were, but I still consider them friends.

My friends in the neighborhood were all 2 to 3 years younger than me, but it didn't matter. Our parents had known each other a really long time. We'd play together every day.

I grew up next to a nursing home run by a family who lived in a separate cottage behind the facility, mother with 2 daughters. Though I was 1 of 5, there was a gap between me and the my older siblings so I was usually out on my own. The family would invite me over. I was the daughter the daughters never had and our friendship lasted until they passed away in my 20's and 30's.

The age difference between one of my bestest friends is 5 years. He is also one of my oldest friends in years and length of friendship despite the fact that we have not spoken to the other in ….six years? Stubborn people and he’s wrong, not me, LOL. We have mutual friends so no dramatic dying scenes are going to happen.

My youngest acquaintance is about 12 years younger than I. Pretty sensible for her age but she hasn’t reached friend class quite yet.

Yes and no. I didn't have any friends early on, so I hung out with my sister and her friends mostly, though I was he little brother tag-along. I mean, they were my friends I guess - sometimes anyway. Also, one of her friends had a little sister who was my age, so she was included too. Eventually, I found some friends my own age, but we all knew each other. Also one of my friends had a little brotehr, so sometimes he was included too.
