I got my 7 year-old son his at Party City the other day. We started writing them out tonight.

I got Spongebob Valentine's with heart-shaped cherry lollipops in them ($1.49 for a bag of 22). That age group is wild about Spongebob.

What'd you folks get for your kids?

This is something I do NOT miss about my kids growing up. Although there are some cute cards out there.

My DS8 saw Valentine's Day cards out at the VERY beginning of January, when we were doing shopping for his birthday invites. He just HAD to have them RIGHT THAT MOMENT. So I got 'em--they're Justice League. Now I just have to remember what I did with them . . . . . . . . . . . . . !!!!!

Yep, Matt picked out Lion King ones. I totally thought he was going to go for the Princess ones:rolleyes: Had it been Mulan, I probably would have gone with it, just becuase what are the chances of Mulan Valentines LOL.

We will probably work on them this weekend. Next Friday is the Valentine Ball in his class. They said dress the children in their best clothes. I want to try to find a little red tie. He has a white button down shirt and black cords, thought it would look way to cute...

Since he's already adorable, I'm sure he will look cute as a button!!!

This is actually the one holiday that is easy~my daughter only has 13 kids in her room so it takes all of 1/2 hour. She picked out Bratz valentines and Blow pop suckers to attach to them.

Yes, and she is done with them. We bought the 'Finding Nemo' with the goody envelopes, they are really cute. We put 2 pieces of chocolate in them.

Yes, and Sam picked my all time favorite.....Hulk.

Sigh......

Then he said to me last night, "Mommy, I need to get some different Valentine's for the girls, cause they don't like Hulk...only boys do..." I thought it was cute. And he showed me a Valentine (some precut hearts they have a craft station) that a classmate made for him....he can't even remember he name, but said, "She's not my girlfriend....yet.......Abigail is still my girlfriend." And then promptly cracked himself up.

Ah, to be in kindergarten again. :D

Yep, my goofus picked out crazy farm animals  Hes so silly...he only has 15 kids in his class so he won't have a whole lot of writing to do.

However he has informed me that we are to buy his girlfriend a dozen roses, a teddy bear, candy and 4 balloons....to which I informed him that I sincerely hope he has some money. My child has LOST HIS MIND!!!!

Of course if hes still that considerate when he gets older he will make someone a super boyfriend!

I was smart...

For the past three or so years, I have been saving the "excess" cards... (ie, buying a box of 48, and using only 22, etc.)

So we had a remainder of Barbie, Scooby Doo, and Nickelodeon ones from the past few years. I put them in a spot where the kids could find them, and use them up.

Just three days ago, my DD got her class list, and she wrote hers out using mostly Barbie and some Scooby.

I'm not sure if my sons class does Valentines.. (they stop some of the celebrations after the 2nd grade...)

But anyway, here's a hint.. save the excess, and put it in a handy place.. you will always use them!

Yep, DD's are already finished, too. She chose Barbie this year, even though we had enough Disney Princess valentine's left over from last year. Hopefully, I'll combine this year's leftovers with last year's and, not buy any next year....not that 99 cents is a big deal tho. ;)

DD got care bears and DS got Fairly Odd Parents ones.

They are so cheapo, they don't even come with envelopes!!

I tried to find more quality ones, but there werent any cute ones

we shopped early this year and were able to find Lizzy McQuire ones with envelopes. We started last night addressing them and will do the treat bags today. My DS is a little disappointed that they don't have middle school parties, but I did get him Simpson ones for his close friends. My kids love to do valentines!!!

I don't think any come with envelopes any more, you just fold them over and put a sticker on it. DD#2 is done with hers; she has Lizzie Maguire valentines. DS has to do his yet. He has spiderman. We also have to make his box since they don't have a lot of free time in his kindergarten class (plus they had 2 days this week with 2 hour delays, so they are only there 1 1/2 hours on those days).

My DS's got theirs too. We have Spider-Man, Hulk, and Ninja turtles.

I got Kim Possible ones to give out to the kiddies i my class!

8yo DS - Harry Potter
6 yo DS - Hot Wheels - with fantastic foil

and I think they both have envelopes!!!!

We found a cute set at the Disney store last week. 20 cards of all different Disney "couples" and red envelopes, 2 different markers, two stamps and stickers.

DD is just about done and I am so proud of her! She won't be 4 until April, but she signed her name, stamped each card and after I put it in the envelope (tight fit so I did that), she licked it and put a sticker on the flap! Her preschool makes it easy because they don't want the children to put a "To" address, just sign the card which makes passing out easy. I think we get some little bags and I will let her put stickers on them (she loves stickers!) and then put a couple "kisses" in each and attach them to the cards. I think I have as much fun as she does!

Nick got Lord of the Rings cards. We wont use but a few since we are homeschooling this year.:( I told him he could pass some out to the kids in his Quizzer's class at church and to his friends that we see alot:)
