Did you get/alter the Buy 5, Get 2 (+giftcard) to another deal?

I recieved the Buy 5 Get 2 (+ Giftcard) pin code a few weeks ago and it also had a subscript saying that "Be sure to ask about great rates for other lengths of stay, Resorts and travel dates 11/28–12/17/09."

I know, I know, just go ahead and call! But if I call, I knoooow I'll book. And that's not so bad, but want I really want to see is what other people have been able to finnagle through this deal. Right now, we're looking at 2 or 3 nights at WL in Dec...but I wanted to see if anyone was able to get, perhaps, at the other end of the 'deal' spectrum, free dining? Or, better, a free night on a lower night stay (which I am sure diminshes the chances of the giftcard at all!). I think I just want to feel like I have some negotiating power/know what I'm doing b/c I fear the rare, not-so-helpful CM who just sends me away with my dumb questions!

I found a great discount rate through Travelocity after I had booked through Disney. I called a CM at Disney and asked if they could give me the same rate or if they had the same deal as I really wanted LV and the travelocity wasn't offering it. The CM told me NO, so I cancelled and booked through Travelocity.

Then low and behold the next day while checking out sites, I found the rate codes online myself called back and booked through Disney and got the view I wanted. It cost me $25.00 to cancel the Travelocity reservation, but it was worth it to me.

So I understand your being neverous about which CM you get. If you have a package but are 45 days out, I think you can change it pretty easily if you find a better rate.

we received the "Goofy" promo...free CS dinding at a value or free DDP at a moderate ( and I *think* it may apply to select deluxe as well, but I did not check into that) I was able to book 12/17-27 at CSR with the PIN using the "check for additional dates" fine print, but keep in mind it is rack rate. We are also considered 3 adults now that DD is 18 so that extra charge hurts. I am not even sure that we can go, but I thought I'd book just in case! The Dolphin also has some sweet rates out there in December, I also have them booked at 149 until 12/22, but then it jumps to 186 after that ( AAA) rate. You just have to keep checking. We are going to have a tough go getting there by the 17th, so may have to give up the free dining , but then Dolphin is not a bad back up plan!I would not be surprised to see more discounts popping up thru numerous sites, I know I am keeping my eyes open for sure as we can only go in December is we go at all...DH can get the time off then.

You know, it never ceases to amaze me that there are any CMs like that on property. I worked at a WDW resort when I was in the college program, 8 years ago, and I absolutely loved it - even applied for a second season (got sidetracked when I met my future husband, though and never returned ). Obviously, working anywhere on property is going to be fun, because you're part of the magic - and obviously, anywhere you work on property, as a CM, you have the potential to bring more magic to someone's day. The mission statement for the parks is something to the effect of "To make sure that each guest has the most magical experience of their life" (!) Yes, of their life. I remember thinking, that's a mighty tall order! But when you're in such an environment, and with everyone working toward that goal (ideally), it's actually quite easy and few things are as much fun as making sure everyone around you is having a spectacular time!
