Did you fly Southwest out of Buffalo on March Break?

We've flown via Air Canada to Orlando during March Break the last three years and the cost for the 5 of us to fly is getting more and more unbearable.

Air Canada's booking window for March 2008 is starting to open up but I am thinking about taking my chances that a decent fare will be available from Southwest next March.

Can anyone who flew to Orlando via Southwest out of Buffalo this year during the Ontario March Break (roughly period between March 10 to 18) give me a sense of how much they paid for their air fares? (We did a quickie trip last June and were able to take advantage of $59 fares each way.)

Thanks in advance for your replies.

My son got a $59 fare from Buffalo to Orlando on March 13th. That was the Tuesday of March break, though. I'm thinking that the weekend flights would have been more expensive.

We flew out on March 10 and returned March 15. With taxes, I think we got $65 each way. Best to book it when Southwest releases the fares, otherwise you have to wait for a DING. I was waiting for March 16-18, but one never came.

We flew out of BUF on Wed. Feb. 28 and back in on Wed. Mar. 14. Both legs were $59 each way. For 5 of us the grand total was $644 US. (which converted to $780 CDN on my Visa statement)
The cheapest I ever found out of YYZ for our dates was $2200 CDN:scared1:
Kind of a no-brainer IMO.

P.S. I work at Pearson airport, know it like the back of my hand, and I would still choose BUF any day of the week for its ease.

we flew the week befor for $59.00 and rebooked for may 19 to 25 for $69.00 just a cheap get away..it was $489.each out of yyz..we have been doing it out of buffalo for 7 years now..3 to 4 times a year

When does Southwest release there March/Feb dates??? I've heard to keep a eye on December, is that correct?? I'm part of the ding and they come on the computer everyday but nothing yet past June.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they release the next round of dates roughly 3 months prior to the current expiry limit. The current limit is August 24, so around the end of May, they should release the next round of dates which should take us to early-mid December. Using this example, the Feb/March dates should be released around mid-September.

Thanks for the replies, everybody.

Here's a follow-up question. Southwest seems to have its cheapest fares when flying on Tues or Wed. For those who flew around March Break, did you have (or would you have had) difficulty finding a good fare on the weekend? If weekends were more expensive, do you remember how much more per seat?

Thanks, again.

We ended up changing our original dates because the Fri, Sat and Sunday (16th,17th&18th) of this year were completely booked on Southwest. That is why we went from Wednesday to Wednesday .
If we wanted to come back on the weekend, we would have had to pay the "refundable anytime" fare which was $236 one-way.
Mind you, we did not book with Southwest the moment they released our original dates. We booked a few weeks later and all the cheap fares were already gone, so book the moment they come out if you want to fly on the weekends around March Break.

We have been flying out of US for several years now on March Break and this year we got $49.00 + tax or $59.00 including taxes. It cost $585US including taxes for a family of 5 and we had a direct flight each way to Orlando from Detroit. We went for 10 days and left our minivan at the hotel for $109.00 overnight which included up to 14 nights of parking.

Why anyone would fly out of Toronto is beyond me. It would have been $2900CAN for the family.
