And Welcome to the DIS!

Oh yes!

Done it many time here in the UK - a cinema on Baker Street showed it every day since it opened, but I think it's shut now.

Been to the stage show a few time and it's now in it's 30th year!

Had a couple of themed parties at home too.

Always dressed up in the full get up - maybe I'll scan some suitable pics in later.

Did someone call me?

Yes,... well, lets just say I've seen the film a few times!

Actually a few hundred to be more precise.

I went every week, dressed up, was a cast member, created lines, and all that.

I actually met my husband there, we were both "Transducers"--and then did some cast work. When we got engaged we did the proposal scene on stage... we went to other cities to do Rocky, and all that... had Rocky parties at Home like Bonzo as well...

DH did it back in the late 70's, and then reprised it later.

In fact its so bad, I was watching the movie Fame, and there is a Rocky scene in it... DH and I were shouting lines at the TV during the quick scene during the movie FAME!

Just once but it I loved it! I didn't dress up but I did do the time warp!:D

Lots of times - Coconut Grove Theater in Coconut Grove, FL. Never dressed up, but always brought the props.

"Let's do the Time Warp again !!!"

when I was in highschool I went with my friends all the time I havent been in like 10 years buy I have the DVD and watch it once a week.
:p Cheap Gas :p
It's just a jump to the left.

Yes, in the 70s.

Anyone ever do a midnight showing of ERASERHEAD? Same idea....just as weird!

I have. They handed out a paper bag...it had rice, a water gun, and a few other things. I didn't dress up but I did do the time warp with the rest of the freakys!

I sure did, I think that was the thing when I was a teenager although i didn't dress up. :D

Was a member of the "official" cast for a local theatre when I was in college. I played Magenta for about a year. Then I gave it up for a while, but went back when they were desparate for a Dr. Scott/Narrator. It was a lot of fun rolling down the aisle in a wheelchair.

I think I still have my "official pass" somewhere that got me into the theatre free.

hey serena...

i just discovered that there is a theater in downtown indy that does RHPS nights on a regular basis...it's something like hollywood bar and film works or something like that...at least i think it's downtown...i'm still new to the area here! :)

i actually have a semi-funny story about a RHPS night...i was a sophomore in high school (1988/1989). i was dating my now husband...anyway, we lived in des moines, iowa. it was new years eve and i had won tickets to go see the RHPS. we had made all of the plans to go and it was going to be my very first NYE with a "date"! i was all excited...didn't plan on dressing up though. anyway, NYE comes along and i don't hear anything from matthew...the entire day...it's now nearing 9:30pm...we were supposed to be leaving and still nothing. i called the place where i thought he was and no one could find him (i think he was at his boss' house..i didn't like him there...way too much underage drinking going on)...i was all upset about it...midnight finally rolls around and guess who pulls up? matthew and his friend rick!! my father yelled at him for standing me up and then i yelled at him for standing me up! he was a little tipsy...and claimed that he forgot. he "forgot" to celebrate NYE with his steady GIRLFRIEND!!!! i was furious! we eventually smoothed things over, obviously...

fastforward to 2002...we have had a few conversations and they end up leading to RHPS. he'll ask me if i've ever seen it in the theater. i'll snicker and remind him that he stood me up on my chance to see it!! he gets all embarassed and says "oh yeah"...it's pretty funny...

maybe someday we'll get to see it...i just won't plan on it for NYE!!! lol :)

Oh YES! I couldn't even begin to tell you how many times we went between 1984 and 1986. A group of us would go at least once a month. We'd never dress up but we'd always bring stuff. What a blast!

My DH has watched it with me on VH1 recently and I tried to remember the lines and junk (I still get all excited?). He thinks it is the most rediculous thing EVER. He actaully told me that if he'd of known my "love" for this movie before we got married, he may never have asked me!?

I love it and would encourage my kids to see it "properly" once they are old enough!

This is too funny!

Just last week was cleaning out an old box of cassettes and found mine, played it in the car.
What memories!
Went to the local library and they had a copy of the movie. Not the same as being at the local theatre but still.

Scratch
:smooth:

PS Now DD knows why some people still say, D____, Janet!

Yep, once or twice, in high school (probably around '89 or '90) :):)

no, but would of liked to..

Lets do the TIME WARP again...

Went lots of times in High School with rice, newspapers, toliet paper anything to throw at the stage!:p

But hey, I went from very young and stupid, to young and married. I didn't get the chance for young and foolish. :teeth:
