My DW's cousin and her family went on their first Disney Cruise this last week and we are so looking forward to hearing all about it.

How was the trip? Anything exciting happen, besides the 35 minute delay on the sail away day? It would be fun to surprise them with some facts and then share the DISboards with them.

To all who were on the last Disney Magice cruise, did you have a good time, even with the 5:35 departure last week?

My DW's cousin and her family were enjoying their first Disney cruise and we will be meeting them soon to look at the pictures and here the stories. But if we can cheat and share some of the information from fellow DISboarders during our get-together that would be great. Then they will ask how we knew:confused3 and we can then share our Disboard family.:thumbsup2

Thanks for your news and stories.

We're back from the 2-14 cruise. It was fantastic!!!

We were a little late getting onto Castaway Cay (got off the ship around 9:45am). The Captain did a great job getting us there. I guess the conditions (currents and wind) were working against him. We stayed 30 minutes late to make up for the delay. The captain announced that it was going to be a cooler day. I guess the high was only around 69 degrees...but it felt much warmer than that. We were very comfortable/warm in our bathing suits and the kids spent hours in the water. It was a gorgeous day....full sunshine and a slight warm breeze. I heard the captain say it would be windy. Maybe I'm just used to much worse, but we didn't find it to be windy. There was a breeze now and then, but no sand flying or anything like that.

The weather was good for the entire cruise (St Thomas was a little cool but that didn't stop us either). We also experienced one night of rough seas. I had to give sea-meds to one of my kids...but that didn't slow her down for long. remarkbly, it didn't bother me (it has before).

The entire week was awesome.

If I had any complaint at all, and this has nothing to do with DCL, it would be the water temps. We've cruised in Jan/Feb a few times. I have decided, as great as it is to get away in the winter, I prefer to cruise when the water temps are higher. I would rather have a HOT day and have the water be "walk-in" warm, than have a coooler day with cold water.

Your original post on the trip report forum is the right place for this. :)

GREAT CRUISE!! PERFECT WEATHER!

On Weds. night, after leaving St. Thomas, the seas got really rough! UGH! They were passing out barf bags @ the shows. I took dramamine & was in bed by 10. This ship was rockin'! Same for the start of Thurs. (day @ sea), but by then, I was used to it.

On Fri. we barely made it into CC because of high winds. Captain had to try & dock 2-3 times! Very windy day, but warm nevertheless!:woohoo:

great weather!! did have that rough sea day but never bothered any of us. just got home now because we missed our flight yesterday. not a lot of fun.

Hi Girls,

Just came in about an hour ago. We went to the world on Saturday. My DD met up with someone she met in the teen club & spent the day with us. She said she had the best time of her life.

The cruise was perfect, except for the "chair hoggers" by the pool. I was amazed how people put there towels on them, & then weren't in them for hours.

Jodi, I too, was in my room 10 pm (green in the face) due to the ship rocking:scared1: 1st time in 5 Disney cruises that I ever got sick.

All in all had such a great time. Excellent!!!

Did anyone rebook for next year?

we rebooked for next year

How were the seas the rest of the trip? I've been on two 3 night Disney cruise and we booked the 3/14 Eastern but I'm a little concerned about being at sea for two days and then another day after St. Thomas ...

The rest of the days were fine, don't worry. This was our first 7day, too, & all went well. I think I recall them saying that it sometimes gets like that when you leave the Caribbean & head into the Atlantic. Just take some dramamine with you just in case...you'll be fine! Have fun, lucky!

We rebooked, too! Not sure if we'll change it, though, to something further out! Seems like going back next year may be overindulging?:rolleyes1

We booked the same pres week trip although the dcl rep said that the new ship will prob start booking at the end of october if all keeps on schedule, so i may move the ressie to 2011. it will be hard not to do anything over the coming pres week. anyone else get the 99 dollar bounceback?

Anyone have advice on weather - I'm debating this cruise for next year - have mid-january booked - and this cruise would be $1800 more for the same categories (need 2 rooms). Kids have the 4 day weekend which would make getting there easier without missing another day of school. Would it be much warmer one month later? Thinking of the Feb 27 as well - since kids have that friday off as well and it's the same price as the mid-January. I'd like to have one Cat. 6 with a balcony - would it be too cool to enjoy it?

Thanks for any advice!
