Did you buy AKV in Fall 2007? Please help

We are currently awaiting ROFR on an AKV resale (originally purchased in October 2007) that has banked points from 2007. There was nothing mentioned about restrictions on the points, but I know that what DVC is currently offering is developers points at SSR, with restrictions on next years points until after May 2009. So - it suddenly dawned on us that maybe these wonderful banked points, and our points coming in June, will have restrictions. Our agent at TTS did not know the answer, so I'm hoping one of you bought AKV in fall 2007 and would know whether or not these points have restrictions.

Are you saying the original owner's AKV contract was purchased in October 2007 or you started the resale process in October 2007?

I don't think there were any restrictions on AKV points until after all the Jambo units sold out, which I believe wasn't until early 2008. Any contracts that were done in 2007 shouldn't have any restrictions on regular points. I don't believe they could resale you unused developer points (which would have restrictions) but could be wrong.

I don't know anything about restrictions on regular points. Developer points can't be banked, so you don't have to worry about that.

I just bought last week and got developer points usable ONLY at SSR and they cannot be banked. As was explained to me, I am also getting Kidani village points in June that I can begin using next May and CAN be banked. I will get another set next June.

That's the way it was explained to me. Restrictions on the SSR points. None on my Kidani points. I'm betting you got a very similar deal.

If I later learn my deal was not what I understand it to be, I'm going to be hot all over but I've asked for clarification from my guide on 3 seperate occasions and he has assured me that I understand correctly.

I'm still a little perplexed that, in essence, I'm getting 320 points this year (160 "free") but I'm not questioning it anymore. They've assured me that this is correct and I'm taking it at face value at this point.

We bought in Sept 07. The only restriction we had was we couldn't use the points until after our until was completed (Dec 1, 2007). Since I think all units are open now, you should be fine

The restrictions should not apply to you.

Currently DVC is selling points in Kidani Village. Those buildings will not open for another year, thus the buyers cannot use their points for a year.

Points that were originally purchased in October '07 are in the first phases of AKV at Jambo House. You should have no problem using the banked points within the normal guidelines.

Thank you all!!! I knew the devoted DVCers on the disboards would know the answer, even when the TTS people didn't. I am relieved to know that the 2007 and 2008 points have no restrictions - we were not too excited to stay at SSR with the developer pts on the new AKV sales DVC is doing now, so when a great resale contract for AKV came along with banked points we jumped on it!

We just bought a couple of weeks ago and I felt the same way. Wow, I am getting points this year at SSR for "free" plus another set of points to bank for next year at AK. So, if we need extra points to make our trips a little longer or more comfortable for the next few years we can use points from that extra set through banking and borrowing. Sounded really good to me too, but from what I have read here - they do offer deals like this at different times so it isn't that unusual. Still - enjoy it!!!! We made our reservation at SSR for Nov. when are you going?

We bought in Nov 07 and the only restriction was the aforementioned inability to use before the unit opened in December (Jambo House #5). Since all of Jambo is opened and I assume that's what you're getting, you're all clear.

Any restrictions on your points should be listed in your purchase contract. If the agent doesn't know, they should find out, that's their job.
