Did waiting (or not) for SW fares work out for you?

I thought waiting paid off for me, $740/total for 4 of us, but then I happened to stumble upon a AA flight for $435/total for us. They only con about the AA rate is that there is a 4 hour layover at MIA both ways. Oh well, no use crying over spilt milk.

Have you ever been to the MIA airport...Personally I would pay to avoid it... it's like a third world country airport. FOUR HOURS?? You can drive from MIA to MCO in that time.

Never been there, but that's the same reaction I got from hubby...he said it was worth the extra $300 to fly directly to MCO. My problem is I hate not to get the best rock bottom deal.

Only available during the weekdays.

Got $150 each way - $300 per person for June 24 - July 2
Still not a bad price and non-stop

holding out didn't work for me. i have never paid under $180 for a roundtrip ticket on any airline and the best deal i can get for my dates is $250. i guess i'll be praying for something else to pop up as i just can't pay that much.

Worked out for us...when they first opened March/April we got MHT to MCO $59 each way Non-Stop ($135 RT)...then a couple of weeks ago I got a Ding and chaged our return flight to $49...I love SWA

I saved $80 per person by waiting for SW and I got the flight times I wanted.

Waited for July and ended up getting the flights I wanted $180 round trip with taxes and fees. Non-stop flights too--woo hoo! Nothing like getting to Orlando in 2 1/2 hours!! It takes me that long just to drive to my sister's house! Hmmmm...drive to my sister's or fly to Orlando? Sorry, sis....Orlando wins!!!!
