Did Tyco make two versions of the Ariel doll for The Little Mermaid doll series?

I found a Tyco The Little Mermaid Ariel doll that seems to be a rare version of Ariel and I wonder if it's a first edition Ariel doll? This Ariel doll has a closed-mouth face mold and has orange rather than red hair and is packaged with a second outfit. I never knew about this Ariel doll because the Tyco Ariel doll I have has red hair and a smiling face mold. Is this Ariel rare of the Tyco The Little Mermaid dolls?
