Did the Festival of Fantasy parade scare your kids?

My kids would love some parts of the parade (Flynn Rider and the mime guy as well as the Frozen stuff would be especially cool), but DD3 frightens easily. I'm on the fence if this is an activity we should try to get to or not. Is it scary? Of course DS5 would love a fire breathing dragon.. he'd love even more if he learned that he could make his little sister shriek by pretending to be a fire breathing dragon!!! In the youtube videos, those blue things (birds? Hawks?) look terrifying, especially the ones on stilts!!! I'm worried DD will have nightmares for weeks. :scared:

Thanks!

Have her watch the videos (or as much as she'll sit through) with the sound off first, see what her reaction is. Name the critters, make a game out of it, see if she can guess when they're going to appear. That way it becomes something she looks forward to in the parade, not something that scares her.

I watched it with my nephew who had been three for a month and a half and another little boy who was two months shy of being three. My nephew is a bit scared of the dark and what may potentially be in the dark -- last time we did Living with the Land, back in like February, we had to coax him on, telling him it wasn't scary, and he enjoyed it. He's at the age where he won't go on PotC anymore. With that for reference sake, they both liked the parade, and neither of them found it scary. They were really into the dragon, and they both really like Frozen, so they liked seeing that float. The birds and other costumes didn't seem to have an effect on them at all.
