Did the Ent. Rate go up at HOJO's?

Hmm, interesting....I put in the dates I'd like for this coming December using the Entertainment code and it came up with all my days at that rate (which to the op are the same rate they've been). I haven't gone as far as putting a credit card, so I don't know if I'd eventually get an error message, but if not they would have to actually honor those prices, right?

Edited to add that in the past (once the dates show up on their website as available) I've had no problem getting the entertainment rate online, so I don't think you have to call in-house if you didn't want.

I went all the way through (cc number entered) & then got the message. :confused3 I don't know if they would have to honour the rates. Probably?
And sorry to the OP, I didn't even address your question! lol But DisneyJamieCA did & yes, the rates were the same that they have been in the past.
Not sure if the dates were listed on the HoJo site when a bunch of us here were having problems booking the Ent Rate online. Might have even just been a glitch at that particular time. The thread must be here somewhere but I never have any luck with the search function! :rotfl:

I tried to get some information on the Ent Rate a few weeks back from Lorealle, and honestly it just felt like she was blowing me off...instead of being helpful like I had herad mentioned SO MANY times before on this board...she just directed me to the 800 number for main reservations...I was disappointed and frustrated so I just booked somewhere else. I'll give her a try the next time I need to book and hope for better luck! Im sure it may have been just a "off day" for her?!?! :goodvibes

If that was me, then I am hooooorrified! I am so sorry, goofycathy!

We cannot book reservations via email, so I always suggest that people 714-776-6120 and ask for In-House Reservations [there is an 800 number for In-House, but if they don't pick up right away, it just bounces straight over to Central, it won't let you wait, so I never give that one out anymore] - but I always at least try to at least check the ET Availability Thread myself and our system to get you some idea of what kind of rates you would be looking at. If I didn't do any of that- I must have been more than having an "Off" day. Wow. I cannot even imagine how that happened. :sad2:

I'm sorry that we missed you on this trip, but I'm really glad that you were still able to find and book something to make a trip to Anaheim. Hopefully, we'll be able to help you next time.

Lorealle

PS- If you can find that email and forward it to me, I would really love the opportunity to try to go back and figure out how/why I fell short so that I can make sure that it never happens again. Thank you! :goodvibes

Ent rate is usually only for a few months at a time. Right now they are only thru April 2010. and those dates change. They tend to add more as it gets closer. We had planned on staying there this trip but 2 days of our trip weren't listed so we booked somewhere else. Then last week I noticed they had added those 2 days.

What most who want to stay there do is book for their dates at reg rate and then call the Anaheim HoJos directly as the date gets closer to get the ENt Rate.

Hey Everybody!

ET Rates are still the same as they have been:
$59 per night + tax for Standard Rooms
$69 per night + tax for Deluxe Rooms
$79 per night + tax for Premium Rooms
$99 per night + tax for Kids Suites

When that full discounted rate isn't available, the discount is 15% off the best available rate, per night.

I would definitely always recommend calling 714-776-6120 and asking for In-House Reservations when you are booking, so that we can make sure that you are getting the best available rate for each night. [For some reason, both the 1-800 number for Central Reservations and the online system have trouble with the ET Rate sometimes- especially if the full discounted rate is available for some, but not all of the nights of your stay. Jonathan, our General Manager, has tried to explain to me why this happens- but I just don't understand it,!]

They usually give me an ET Availability Calendar about once a week, and they usually only go as far as 2 to 3 months out at a time. I always post a new calendar with the most recent dates at our Message Boards, and you can find that link here.

If you're on Facebook, you can follow us there [just search for HoJo Anaheim], and I always do a status update when I post a new ET Availability Calendar. I do the same on Twitter and Tumblr, too. So there are lots of ways to get notified.

Hope this helps! And HAPPY NEW YEAR! pixiedust: :goodvibes

Wow, that totally does not sound like Lorealle at all. I would say it must have been an impersonater!

The ER has changed in the past, but not by too much. I called for January dates and they had not changed for that. I think the OP must have either not understood, or they got the general reservation line. I know that when I have asked for the Entertainment Rate in the past, they always check for all discounts and then just tell me what they can do. Perhaps they gave her the disboard price because entertainment rate wasn't available?

She said that it was the best rate she could give me, and that yes, the ent. rate was available for the nights I booked. However, I have been so busy lately, that I have not called directly to HoJO's. I promise to do that tonight, so I can once and for all, resolve this mystery!!!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

But calling *tonight* might very well be after Pacific time business hours, so you won't be speaking to the *in house* people. And they won't be able to give you the correct rate.

When you talk to the general res people, they have their OWN entertainment rate, which is a percentage of rack rate. The Anaheim HoJo, however, has their very special rate, which Lorealle posted a list of a few posts ago. :) Gotta talk to the people there in the hotel!

I was one of those people who encountered that "glitch" while trying to book our last 2 stays, so I called in-house reservations and reserved the room that way. They will honor the ent. rates if they show up as available on the calendar on their site. For some reason, the "rate plan not available" message appears at the end of trying to book even though each day shows up as available. Each time that happened to me, I had no problem getting those dates when I called in-house. It seems to occur more often than not as far as what I've seen on here. I didn't know if it was still occuring or if it was resolved because I stopped trying to book online this past year. You shouldn't have any problem getting your dates if you give them a call.

Good to know that I am not going crazy! :rotfl: I remembered a few people having the same problem at the same time that I did.
And yes, all of my dates are showing again this time. Oh well.....I just thought I'd give it a go. I'll call tomorrow & book regardless of wether I can get the Ent Rate or not at this point. I can always watch the calendar on the HoJo discussion boards & then call in-house reservations to have the rate changed.

Are this rates ever offered during Easter? I think I already know the answer, but just wishing I'm wrong. We are going 03/31-04/03, and I have the Quality Inn and Suites (near HoJo) booked for $68 a night, but would love to stay at HoJo instead. Unfortunately we are on a budget. :confused3

Probably not, but you never really know. Just make sure you know the Quality Inn's cancellation period, and keep an eye on this thread, and if your dates pop up, grab it!
