I don't know what the deluxes got, but the BWV king beds did get new pillow top mattresses not too long agao. I think it was last December that Housekeeping stopped by our room to check to see if ours had been done yet. (It had). Don't know if any changes were made to the queen bed in the studios/2nd bedrooms as we were in a 1 bedroom that trip.
We loved our king bed at BWV a few weeks ago so much we looked to see what it was, a Sealy Posturepedic Encore 920 Plush. I can't seem to locate it anywhere. Do they make these for the public to buy?
Manufacturers will sometimes assign different names for the same product dependent on the retailer or user - so the Encore 920 Plush may very well also have other names. Here are some that may be similar -
The beds at DVC are hotel grade, so unless you can get a hotel supplier to sell you one you will have to settle for something similar. But yes they got the higher quality plush pillow top similar to the Polynesian and Grand Floridian, if they got new ones.
Our only complaint at BWV was the beds. I was so happy to see that the kings are now pillowtops. Our last visit was last Nov., so I must have just missed them. Have thay upgraded ALL the king beds at BWV, or just some of them?

I echo what's been said here. If you go into any of the major mattress stores and speak to the salesperson, they should be able to "look up" the equivalent name that they might have available to the public. I was once told that stores will work with the manufacturers to put a different name on a mattress to make shopping from store to store difficult.
If you go into a reputable store, I know they will help you find the same or equivalent mattress. Rockaway Bedding (a chain near my house) has the "Westin Heavenly Bed", though it has a totally different name. I did lay down on it and it sure felt like the Heavenly Bed I slept on recently.
Also, thanks to the OP and those who responded. I knew we were getting new sofa beds, but I did not know we were getting pillowtops also. We did not have one during my BW stay in August 2005.
The lodge got them when the rooms were renovated, the villas are next. Not sure if they will do them for the entire building or as needed to replace old and worn units.
I was told by Resort Operations that the mattresses are Sealy Posturepedic Encore 720 Plush. If you do a google for the 720, you will see that many fine hotels use them.
