So did anyone else have a kitchen/cookware Christmas?
My parents bought me some great kitchen stuff. I got a 16" electric frying pan, a rival 6.5 qt crock pot, a cast iron cornbread/pan kit, a new spoon rest (broke mine), a few good knives and a Kitchen Aid mixer cover.

I can't wait to use everything. The spoon rest and KA cover have found their places in the kitchen. Tomorrow I am using the crockpot for the first time. I am planning on making chicken using a DIS recipe I found.

popcorn:: Just curious what you all got ....?????

Happy New Year!

Yup...I asked for a panini press, and DH got me one better than I asked for

My DS19 has used it every day since he opened the box. I think he likes it better than I do :rotfl:

Yumm~o

The only thing I got that was remotely kitchen related this year were a Mickey trivet, which I so love, and a GC to a local restaurant. :lmao: You know...my favorite thing to make for dinner is reservations. ;) :lmao: :lmao:

I'm so jealous though! I haven't had an electric frying pan for eons!! I really miss it - mostly for making candy at Christmas (to keep the chocolate melted) and pancakes! I get so tired of standing in the kitchen making them instead of sitting at the table & doing it as we want more. LOL

I've never seen a panini press, but it sounds really cool!

You know, I completely missed the boat! I really, really need new cookware, but didn't think to ask for it for Christmas! I have Circulon that I thought would last me until we went to the "Bingo Hall" but the coating is flaking off on most of the pieces. I really should stop using it & get new. :(

Oh I got some goodies. My favorite "gadget" is the List maker thing- I talk into it and it makes a list that prints out. FUN FUN FUN!!

I also got a new hand mixer that I asked for(the foodtv one and it is COOL but I have not used it yet as we were away. But I am breaking it out now that we are home.)

I also got a chopper thingie. and another mandoline(smaller than the monster one I have and rarely use as I fear losing a finger)

And my 5 year old cooking son got a new spatula with a car that he LOVES and a new wisk, and some collapsable measuring cups. And yes he loves them all. First thing he wanted to do Christmas morning(and he got a nintendo ds) was make scrambled eggs with his new spatula!

DH got the new George Forman grill with the interchangeable plates. I think he's in love! LOL

I didn't ask for kitchen stuff this year, we've run out of room in our teeny tiny kitchen.

Sounds like everyone had a nice holiday... keep the gifts received reports coming.

I hope my DS becomes my kitchen assistant too, when he is older. Mom always gives me the kitchen gadgets and DH sticks to jewelry (Mickey watch), which I love. I couldnt have asked for more.

My DSIL gave me a weekly meal planner pad... I am not the organized however:lmao: . I am a last minute, what is there in the freezer kinda girl!
DH's work schedule is way to hard to stick with a plan a week ahead.

I got a small (2-3/4) Le Crueset oval Dutch oven. Since most of the time, it's just DH and me, we will finally have apiece that's small enough to cook for 2!

I also got a panini maker. I work at Williams Sonoma and we completely sold out of the one that was featured on Oprah's "Favorite Things" show. Breville shipped us an upgraded one (with removable plates) to help keep up with the demand. They only sent a few of them, though, then we got the original one back in. I was lucky enough to get one of the upgraded ones for the price of the original! :thumbsup2 All those hours during the holidays pay off! ;)

First time on the Cooking forum......Love it!!:cool1: :cool1:

I got another new crock pot. ( the one that has 3 different sized pots). The Magic Bullett, new pots and pans (not sure what kind, still in the box, but, DMIL only buys the best), and Fix It And Forget It Cookbook. Love, Love when I get kitchen/cooking stuff. My Friends think I'm crazy for always asking for practical things.

Welcome, to the cooking thread!

Who makes the crock-pot you are talking about? I did not know they had one like that! I think I am jealous...so far I am not liking the results I have had with my rival.

Santa brought me two new cookie pans, a pan scrapper in the shape of an egg with a face, a egg separator in the shape of an egg with a face and a pineapple corer/cutter. It really works great. I had a lot of fun with it over CHristmas.

I am interested in the crockpot with 3 different size crocks. Just what I need another crockpot. I am the crockpot queen. I have 6.

I've got a new cook book - it was printed by a village in the West country to raise money for a church roof, so there's loads of unusual recipes to try. Shame about the diet:rolleyes1

We'll have to start our own Court. Everyone around here says I'm the crock pot queen. Proud owner of 5. I'm always picking them up at tag sales. And always forgetting 1 or 2 at someone elses house. I've learned to only bring the tag sale ones to peoples houses.

Thanks for the welcoming!! forgot to add this one in. It's a Hamilton Beech 3 in 1 slow cooker. Here is a link to the one at Target. http://www.target.com/Hamilton-Beac...ef=bxgy_cc_text_a_1041766/602-4558555-8786202

DH said mine came from Walmart and it was approx. $30.00.

To bad my Mom picked me out my Rival 6.5 quart...I think I would have loved that one... can't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Thanks for the info!
