Did Mattel release the 1997 Fashion Secrets Megara doll with two face molds?

When Mattel released the Hercules Fashion Secrets Megara doll in 1997 I read that this Megara doll had been released in two face molds and I want to know why they did this? The Fashion Secrets Megara doll I have has a closed mouth face mold and the second face mold is Megara's smiling face. Mattel also did this to the Megara dolls featured in the Disney's Hercules Legend Of Love doll gift sets and so it makes me curious if the second face mold on the Fashion Secrets Megara dolls was used for the second edition of these dolls?

I didn't even know that they had released dolls of Hercules at the time because I was recovering from a surgery that summer and Dad went to Toys "R" Us and saw the Fashion Secrets Megara doll and got her for me because I had just read about this doll in a magazine and Dad gave it to me when he got home from grocery shopping. But I didn't know that there was also a smiling face version of Megara in this series. And I am curious if Mattel did not make many Fashion Secrets Megara dolls with the smiling face mold?
