After having read several threads about how some of the rides/show scare younger children, I was wondering if your kids surprised you by liking rides you thought they would hate.

When we went in Dec. 05, I figured DS5 would love every ride he could do, but would not like ITTBAB, he is terrified of bees. When we were at AK, we asked him about it and explained what it was and he chose to see the movie. We sat near and exit, expecting to have to make a quick exit. He loved the show, no fear at all. He was 44 inches so he rode everything except Mission:Space and loved everything.

DS3 tends to be more timid, so while he was 40 inches, I figured there was no way he woud ride TOT, or Dinosaur or watch ITTBAB. Boy was I wrong he loved TOT,Dinosaur and ITTBAB.

So did your kids surprise you with what they liked?

My kids loved every ride!! Their Fave TOT! I couldn't believe it!

DS2 LOVED the TTA and Spaceship Earth- go figure...

I was surprised that he did not like POTC

DS5, at 3 & 4 loved some of those "skip at this age" rides. He adored ITTBAB, Dinosaur, rode ToT with great thrill, needs to ride TT over & over. The only thing that he doesn't like is the queue of Haunted Mansion. It just proves to me every kid is different & you should carefully weigh cookie cutter advice.

My daughter loves TOT and Dinosaur. Rides them head buried in my shoulder or hands over her eyes (I do to on Dinosaur)--but she LOVES them and always asks to go back.

I cannot figure out what ITTBAB is. Oh--just figured it out. I hate that place. The first time--I broke out crying b/c of the end I kid you not! Now when I go I just (literally) sit on the edge of the seat so that I don't get any surprises. My girls love that place to. Hubby tries to get me to sit back--bad hubby!

My middle DS (7) loved Everest and Mission Space he cannot wait to go back on them. This was a little shocking because two years ago he would not go on anything like that.

He hated Dinasour (buried his head in me).

We just got back yesterday. Our 4 year old ds loved Carousel of Progress. Who would have thought we would go on it 4 times in one trip.

I was absolutely shocked at the rides my daughter loved. (Our experience is at DL and CA, but we'll be adding WDW this fall.) My daughter is normally a fairly timid girl who repeatedly asks to sleep in my bed because she's afraid to be alone in her room. However, when we went to DL for the first time, she was 3, and she just barely made it onto BTMMR. I thought we'd struggle through one ride and then she wouldn't want anything to do with it after that. Oh, no, she loved it and rode it repeatedly. Not scared at all. I thought that some of the dark rides would surely terrify her--I'd especially heard that Mr. Toad's was very frightening. My sweetpea loved them--she wanted to ride Mr. Toad's *alone* but was too small. Every time we've returned, she's grown enough to try new rides, and she's loved every single one of them. She *LOVED* ToT and keeps riding it even though I refuse to join the rest of them on it--I'm too scared!

One of my sons would not get on Dinosaur but loved TOT! (He was 8 at the time)...My nephew who was 4 at the time cried the whole way through Indiana Jones and when he got home talked of nothing else, wanting to see the movies...And I'm always amazed at how preschoolers will wait in the longest lines of all to ride Dumbo multiple times!

Not only that, every trip will be different. When my dd was 6 she loved ToT. At 7 she would not ride it. At 7.5 she loved it again :confused3 She is afraid of Space Mountian but loves Mission Space... oh and no way will she ride the Alice in Wonderland ride in Disneyland but we have to ride Test Track in Epcot as often as possible :confused3 We just go with the flow, we have learned she is impossible to predict (and so young, too).

My 6 yr old dd this past trip proclaimed TOT her favorite ride ever! We ended up riding it nearly a dozen times in one trip! She also loved BTMR & rode it a dozen times as well....Not so thrilled with SM, said "it's ok, but kinda boring" lol!
