We just purchased our 4th VWL contract direct from DVC last week. We paid no closing costs. I asked our guide if there were any incentives and just as others have said, all sold out properties have no incentives. So all the info you are getting here is on the money. Good thing about buying direct is its a done deal. Same day we purchased by phone, those new pts were in the system and showed up online. Our guide told us unless we are going to use the new pts before Aug., be sure to bank them. We called MS Thurs and they are banked. We, like you, were able to get 07 use yr pts plus no maint. fees for same. Its so much easier to not have to ponder buying add-ons. We already know the value of owning

I asked this on another thread a few days ago, but since it was brought up again here - we would typically travel IN SEPTEMBER. Would a September UY mess us up somehow? This is the only part of DVC that I truly don't understand very well.

If you typically travel in September, then a September use year is perfect for you.

You may have gotten in under the wire...this stuff with closing costs only started recently.

Also, if you own DVC already, even if you buy a "new contract", that is considered an "add on".

I guess I should clarify...If you are a DVC member, you don't get charged closing costs, even if it is a "new contract" at a different resort.

If you have never bought DVC, then you should be charged closing cost now...but you never know what they are doing or changing regarding incentives...

We were new to DVC ( non-members) and bought a new 150 pts contract at BCV in FEB 2007 and did not pay any closing cost as well.
