I ejected the disc while the game was paused and now after you play the game for a certain amount of time, an error message comes up saying "eject disc, turn off Wii and consult owners manual."

Did I break it?

Sounds like you might have done something to it.
My brother's kids scratched their Mario Kart the week after they got it. He tried the anti scratch machine, and even rubbed banana on it (I know, but according to the internet that is supposed to fill the scratch.)
He didn't want to buy another so he called the number on the disk booklet and they were able to send him another disc for 1/2 the cost of the original game. he only got the game disc, not the booklet or the case, but that was ok since he already had the booklet and case from the scratched one.

You need to reboot your wii. Just unplug the wii, wait a minute or two. This should fix this error.
Let us know. I might have another fix for you

I thought of that last night and unplugged it. It's still unplugged this morning. I forgot to plug it back in.

I guess I'll wait until the kids get home to find out if it worked or not.

Thanks! :goodvibes

This happens to us fairly frequently since my 2.5 year old is the main player on the Wii. Well he was until we took it away from him because he was becoming obsessed! Anyway, we never have a problem after shutting the system down and rebooting it.

I just had my disc drive fixed to the tune of 80 bucks.:headache:

Have you tried other games yet?

I am hoping for you it is just the game and not your drive.:thumbsup2

I'm pretty sure it's the game, b/c DS tried it on a friend's wii and the same thing happened when they tried it.

So hopefully rebooting the machine works. :thumbsup2

Well, I just turned on the wii, booted up the disc and discovered two things...

One, the rebooting worked, as I was able to play with no problems...and two, I'm really bad at Mario Kart.

anytime you have a problem with the wii. Rebooting the machine 95% of the time will fix any error.
Just to note you arent doing any harm rebooting this way..

glad you got it working..

as for being really bad Mario kart... um.. um.. cant help u..
instead of looking at the cart while driving.. look a bit a head instead. Like you would driving a actual car. This should help you in the turns. :upsidedow

I do! :rotfl:But I usually end up turning too much and overcorrecting. It's a never ending cycle. :rolleyes1

My 8 year old is much better at driving than I am. :lmao:

and what state are you in? :rotfl2: Just so i can drive around it.. :rolleyes1

:lmao:I have a spotless driving record in the "real" world, so you don't have to worry about me on the road...just on Mario Kart. :rotfl:
