Did I make the right choice? BWV?

We've stayed at the BWV many times and have loved it every time. :thumbsup2 Even when our room wound up at the very end of the longest hallway in existence!:goodvibes It's so convenient and has everything you need right there on the Boardwalk - restaurants, shopping, gym, pool:beach:, etc. And you have the choice of either walking or taking the boat:boat: to DHS or Epcot. The only negative I can think of is sometimes you have to share a bus to the parks and end up stopping at the Dolphin/Swan (one stop) and then Yacht and Beach Clubs. So by the time you actually get on the road to either MK, AK, or DD, another 15-20 minutes has gone by. Just plan accordingly, and you'll be fine.;)

I have heard about the bus service issues, and we will make sure to plan for that. We had our car last time, but this time we are flying. It's going to be nice to walk to our two favorite parks, so I'm sure it will be a minor inconvenience! Thanks!

We love BWV though we have only stayed there once. We stayed in 1 bed standard almost as far down the hall as you could go, very near the tennis courts. Advantage was we could head out the door and be near HS in about 7 mins. Or we could walk other way and be in Epcot in about 7 mins. We had our car, so real near the parking lot at that end.

You are removed enough from the BW noise at night, yet have the advantages of all that BW offers.

I say go for it!!

I think I'm going to request further from the elevators! The hallways at Kidani didn't bother me, so I think we are going to be just fine. I'm so excited now!!

I love BWV...I own there, so that's a good thing. It's the one resort my dh said he would consider buying DVC at. So, we did!!!
Yes, it has long hallways, but I have to tell you...BW no longer holds the title of longest resort hallways. Kidani holds that one. My friend and I walked to the far end of Kidani once....we practically had to go back to our room and take a nap afterwards. It made BWV look like an amble in a small park!!!

The only thing I don't care for at BWV is the lack of quick dining. The other DVC resorts have places you can grab something very easily. At BW, you have to take your mug with you, get your drink in a paper cup and then pour it into your mug..drives me nuts. It would be nice if they put something in at BWV that is like the Marketplace over at BCV. Not huge but at least it's something.

Other than that, I love everything about BWV...even like the standard view villas.

We were all the way at the end of the Kidani hallway on our 2012 trip, and it didn't really bother us so BWV is going to be no problem. I didn't realize it wasn't as long as Kidani. The paper cup mug refill idea drives me nuts and I might not buy mugs this time because of that. Maybe I will order more drinks from Garden Grocer. Thanks for the heads up on that!

Well I hope you didn't really want to be talked out of your trip because this thread just made me all the more excited for our April trip at BWV. We honeymooned at the Yacht Club so we already know how fabulous the location is. That whole area holds a special place in my heart, and I can't wait to head back and stay in our BWV studio for my nephew's Spring Break.

No, I was actually hoping that BWV lovers would reassure me I had made the right choice!! I am so relieved and so excited! And all the great tips I gained from this post will go to good use!!

Thanks everyone!!!

We don't mind using the stairs at all! I hadn't thought of that. I'm thinking I might even request further from the elevators now after all this great feedback!
I learned from DebbieB to request "High floor, across from the bus stop". Requests are not guaranteed of course but it has worked out well both of the times we requested it.

When we have a 1BR, we also now request "dedicated." There are some standard view 1 BR's on the corner of the building above the entrance near the bus stop that are dedicated and huge compared to regular 1 BR's. The first time we had one of these I was amazed at how big it was. Great location and great view. Easy access to buses, parking, quiet pool and the studios. We will be there next week and we have it requested.

Can anyone comment on the pool at BWV? We are going with a 4 and 8 yr old. Is it kid fun/friendly?

We own at BWV and love it. We've stayed at AKL a couple of times, but we much prefer BWV. We really feel like we're on vacation at BWV. The boardwalk is a lot of fun, especially at night, with the performers, carnival games, etc.

I've owned at BWV since 1999 and although I have tried the other resorts, it's still my favorite. I love the boardwalk view. On my last trip, we were in the last room next to Jellyrolls. It wasn't a big deal, we used the steps that come out across from the Swan as a shortcut.
