Did I make a mistake with YC ;)

We have been away from WDW for almost a year and a half, but are returning once again in the fall (and again in Jan, Feb and Apr).

I have gone ahead and booked the YC for mid October for 2 nights, to spoil us just a bit. My kids love the beach and pools and are beyond excited for SAB. We booked the rack rate as passholder and resident rates aren't released yet for that time, but I am really hoping to see discount of some sort.

Anyway, am I spoiling us to the point that we are not want to stay at POR as we have reserved for Jan and Feb? My argument for those months is that the weather is iffy and that it may not be warm enough to swim, but I am thinking when we return in April I am going to want to book the BC or YC again ;)

Am I going to be hooked and ruin the moderates forever?

We stayed at the YC in June for the first time. It is really nice more upscale than the BC and BW. We have stayed for years at the BW and last year stayed at the BC. We are returning to BC in Aug. and Jan. You will definitely enjoy your stay - the rooms are spacious. Not sure how it would be to go back to a mod after staying at the YC since unfortunately I am a deluxe girl all the way.

We have been deluxe ever since our second visit. I stayed split last solo trip POFQ and Swan (I know some think this a deluxe, I don't). Staying split POFQ and YC on the next visit. I think each resort has something to offer. I wouldn't say that I'm spoiled away from staying moderate but as a split stay I think its fun to experience both resorts. I would definitely make the deluxe the second half of the split.

We like to do split stays .... a few nights at the moderates then switching to the deluxes ... it saves money and allows you to experience both on the same trip. ;)

After DH and I recently got back from a BC stay he told me he will never stay anywhere else which is fine with me:lmao:

I hadn't thought about splitting our stay, probably because we generally only go for a night and on rare occasion two. But this year since we have canceled our BIG vacation I feel like I can splurge a little more and make mini trips instead of just a quick weekend. Oct and Jan are just 2 night stays, but Feb is a 4 night, so maybe I will consider a split then.

I am honestly hoping that DH and the kids love it so much that we will start sticking with the deluxe resorts. I think the rate we end up paying will also be a determining factor. Here is hoping for a Disney Visa, Florida resident, or Passholder discount ;)

I will be the voice of dissent. I've stayed at AKL, BW, Poly, and OKW. I loved things about all of them and wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of them again. However, I love Port Orleans and am really looking forward to staying there again!
Port Orleans hits that perfect spot for me where I don't feel like I've overspent on vacation and still stayed somewhere that I enjoyed.
So I don't think Deluxe spoiled me. I'd rather something more reasonably priced most of the time:)

Thanks for saying that, it gives me a bit more hope ;) I think for our Jan two night we will be fine going back to Port Orleans, plus the kids are excited to stay in one of the Royal Rooms. We have stayed at POR before but the kids dont really remember it, so it will be fun to experience it again. Plus I have a feeling since our Feb trip falls over President's Day we will really be priced out of the BC & YC. As it is our POR rate is between $241-$271/nt for that trip. Hard to justify $400-$500/nt when the kids probably wont be able to benefit from SAB.

Our family has stayed at Yacht Club, Beach Club, AKL, WL, and Poly several times. Our favorites are Poly and BC. But we also loved our stays at POR and CBR. We've stayed at CBR twice and are going back to POR in 2 months. I think you will be fine in January.
