OK, maybe I'm crazy, but it seems to me that in the past, MS was most accomodating about reallocating points. For instance when calling for a new reservation, they would say, "oh, let's move your banked/borrowed points from that reservation to this one so you won't have a cancellation problem."
I admit my memory is not what it used to be, but I just asked about a reallocation and the answer didn't make a lot of sense to me. I have two reservations this use year at BCV, both booked under the same account, both booked at 11 months using BCV points. The first one is at the end of this month, using banked and current UY points. The second one is in October, using current year and borrowed points. I asked if I could switch some points around so that all of the October reservation would be using current year points (in case we have to cancel that trip). I have a February UY, and wouldn't be able to use the points by then if we have to cancel.
They said no, that it would involve cancelling and rebooking, and there's no availability. I can usually understand their reasoning, but not this time. I'm asking for a bookkeeping shuffle, not extra nights or a different unit. And it really seems to me that this is the type of thing they have always been more than happy to do. Am I off my rocker?
