Did free dinning get offered earlier for Canadians Last Year?

I read somewhere on the Dis that free dining was offered earlier to Canadians last year. I booked when it opened up to everyone last year and noticed Canadians could still book free dining when the US offer had expired, but I did not see anything about it starting earlier for Canadians. Does anyone remember if the free dining was offered earlier to Canadians?

It was offered starting Aug 15 for Canadians (Aug 28 for general public) according to Mousesavers info in above link. They were announced at the same time though, in late April.

Okay, thank-you so much for the reply! That must be what the poster meant, that the free dining dates were for earlier than the general publics available booking dates. I misunderstood and thought someone was saying free dining was available to book earlier for Canadians.

In 2014 there were specific offers for Canadians and Americans; also, the Canadian offer was available a few hours earlier than the US offer.

In 2015, the offers were available at the same time, but again different offers for Canadians and Americans. The most significant differences were that Canadians could book into August (vs July for USA) and Canadian valid travel dates started earlier in August; both dropped 27 April 2015.

Valid Travel Dates
August 15 – October 2, 2015
October 25 – October 31, 2015
November 8 – November 19, 2015
December 15 – December 21, 2015

USA offer:

Book Through
July 10, 2015

Valid Travel Dates
August 28 – October 2, 2015
October 25 – October 31, 2015
November 8 – November 19, 2015
December 15 – December 21, 2015


Finally the ROOM ONLY offer was the same for Canadians and Americans, but the URL to go to to receive it was different for each:

I called right away and got lucky my dates were still available. Do you know what time free dining became available to book in both 2014 and 2015?

In 2014 I booked our fall 2014 stay at about 0100 on 05-07-2014. The free dining offer link was not shown in the "special offers" dropdown list on the WDW website, but you could go directly to the link and book. USA people had to wait a few hours. As of 3:26 that morning only the Canadian offer was available - people coming to the link from a USA IP address/with a USA billing address got a message that the offer was only for Canadians. By probably about 8 am or maybe a bit later the USA offer was up.

The late fall 2014 room only offer dropped July 23 at about 7 am; we booked it at ~0720 by phone (we were changing a reservation from AAA to RO discount) and were the first RO offer reservation the CM had dealt with that morning.

In 2015, both USA and Canada as well as Free Dining and Room Only offers for late fall 2015 came up at the same time. 04-27-2015. I had booked online by about 0600.

Thanks so much! I live in Canada too and got lucky last year that what we wanted was still available when i called at 7:00pm! I don't think I will get that lucky twice so I want to be prepared. Everyone in my family wants POR which was excluded for our dates last year (we went to CBR) so I might be looking for a Room Only discount. I want to check to see if POR is offered for Free Dining and if not hopefully book a RO offer. Thank-you for all your help!

Just a little FYI. There are a bunch of rumours circulating that FD will not be offered any more. The most recent dining offer seems to be a means for WDW to wean people off of it.

If it happens for the fall that's great but don't bank on it. Things are definitely changing.

The resort we want wasn't included in the free dining offer last year so we are probably going to be just looking for a room discount. I thought I would check if free dining comes out just to be sure. We had a free dining bounce back booked for September but as a family we decided we would rather go in November when it's cooler, with or without free dining. Thanks for the info!
