Did anyone's natural gas bill go down?

I just opened my bill expecting the worse and it went WAY down, I mean over a hundred dollars down. Anyone else? Or did someone make a beautiful mistake???

ours dropped from 292 to 181 last month--it's better but still way above last year.

I heard that January 2006 was the 9th warmest on record, so the amount of heat needed should have been less. I hope this is why your bill went down.

I pay my bill on the budget, but I looked at the costs this last month. My bill in January WOULD have been $278 without the budget. However, it was estimated....and they revised it down $150 when they actually read the meter. As of this month my budget has not changed and I am still in pretty good shape.

Its hard to tell yet because our company does l month actual reading and the next month is estimated. My last 2 bills have been about the same, almost $300. Makes me sick. We have a small ranch, no basement, electric stove and dryer so I dont know where this cost is coming from. We live in the metro ny area so they really get us in the pocketbook all the time. With the warm weather I hope the next bill will not have too much of a balance due for the actual amount.

Oh, it was wonderful! We've had a rate decrease, and January was so warm. My December bill was - sit down - $808.00 (3500 square feet, usually set on 70-71 up and downstairs.) The bill I opened today was $507.00 or thereabouts. Thank God - I was going to have to make the children sleep on my floor and close off the upstairs altogether. As soon as the "cold months" are over, I'm going to switch to the Equal Payment Plan. I'd rather have $200 or $250 a month year round than these big shockers in December and January!!!!

Yup...it was down by a third from last month and just less than that from last year.
