Did anyone watch Crimewatch tonight?

I'm so happy! I work beside one of the people who was featured (as a victim of the Road Rage) - I just saw Crime Watch update and the Policewoman leading the case looked to be very smug at having received good information who did the attack. I SO hope they can catch the scum who did this....you obviously couldn't tell from the reconstruction or short interview afterwards, but my work mate who was featured is just one of the nicest, funniest and non-confrontational blokes you can ever meet - it was such an awful thing to happen to him and his family :(

Hi Disneymad

So sorry to find this out. I too watched part of it and it boils my blood to find out this has happened to anyone, let alone someone you know. Driving has too many hazzards as it is.

My heart goes out to your friend and hope justice is done .

All the best

I didn't see the programme but do hope they catch the person - was he badly hurt?

I didn't see it either, Pen, but I hope you can post back soon with some good news.

Yes, he was badly hurt Shirley - when the attack happened (right outside his house at 2am) his wife honestly thought he was dead. Also, the kids were in the back seat and saw the whole thing :(

Basically, because they couldn't park the car outside their house after returning from a late party, they temprorarily double-parked so they could drop the kids off (2 & 4 years old, it was cold, obviously late and they were in their jammies). Wifey got out to unlock the door at which point a car pulled up behind revving like mad and hooting because they couldn't get past. Wifey came back to the car (she was the driver because he'd been drinking) and drove down the street a bit till she could pull in and let them pass, but instead of them driving off, they pulled over too.

The driver got out the car, knocked him out cold with the first blow, then when he was unconscious on the ground he stamped & kicked him repeatedly on the head, across the throat and in the chest. It only stopped when a neighbour came out on the street and shouted out. He had a fractured eye socket, I'm not sure, maybe a fractured jaw, lost some teeth and others cut right through his bottom lip, and obviously he was very badly bruised about the face. They showed a picture last night of his injuries taken at the hospital, it was just awful :(

Nick Owen said last night that the charge was Grievous Bodily Harm or possible Attempted Murder. However, they were a bit cagey about it all in the Update as the information they had got was obviously good and they implied that they would be acting on it.

Our guy at work hasn't heard anything yet today so knows as much as I do at the moment, but he is hoping to hear something soon. Assuming I'm allowed to say it publicly, I'll let you know if there's any good news.

Poor guy and poor family :( ........ I SO SO hope that they get that vicious thug.
Hopefully the neighbour helped with the description.

Yes please do update us.

Well, apparantly they did get a name and went round to this guys address but....after the program he did a runner so they are still looking for him :(

Penny
