Did anyone wait for Fantasmic (not do the dinner)

We waited for Fantasmic too. I would suggest if you have young-uns though to have something to entertain them with as they can get antsy.

Great ideas as I've been toying with this issue as well. I think the package can be well worth it but as one said, even with the pkg, you still need to arrive early. The other thing, as another poster said, we did the pkg last time and it started pouring prior to even getting to the stadium, we were still in the Brown Derby. They didn't cancel the show, let us in, the stadium was packed and we were all wet and disgusting. It was so bad that even with ponchos, your legs just got soaked and we all felt miserable. They postponed the show and we waited another 1/2 hr, when they finally cancelled for the night. All of that money for the dinner and no show anyway. After it was all said and done, we said we didn't even enjoy the Brown Derby. :sad2:

We dont do the dinner package and we dont get there an hour before and we have always had decent seats-it is a huge area-every seat is good. We usually head over about 30 minutes before. Did this during months of May and June.

We always wait, so far we have been pretty lucky that we can keep our son entertained for a little over an hour while sitting waiting! Thankfully for the "Mouse House" CD songs that they play in the theater!!

This is encouraging. I've never seen Fantasmic! and plan to make a special trip to the Studios just to see it. I originally wanted to do the dinner package, but couldn't get the PS I wanted, so decided just to go and wait. Since it's the only thing we plan to do while in the park, we won't mind the wait. I think we'll follow the suggestion of grabbing some popcorn and just enjoy the people-watching!

I refuse to come home from this trip without seeing Fantasmic! I guess that means if I don't see it I'll have to stay there forever. Wouldn't that be terrible? :rotfl:

We've been to disney many of times and never saw the show. Last time we waited outside for our boys to get off a ride and then went in , no room to sit. We had no idea if was so busy. This year I am determined to get there and wait for the show. Is it possible to finish the show and have time to get to epcot for the lazer show. We have seen the lazer show many of times, but we are only spending one full day at disney ( epcot, mgm and magic kingdom). We will park hop and see the things that are new or our favorites.

We've done the dinner package before and were pleased. Tried to get PS this year and they're booked. After reading these posts I feel better--we'll get thre early, see the show and will not have paid the big bucks for the meal. :goodvibes

That said and the fact that we are trying to limit the number of TS restaurants, I think we'll be better of at another TS restaurant later in the week. I was trying to stick to 3 and want to space them out. Right now it's H&V on Mon and CRT on Tuesday - not exactly spaced out. Then doing a restaurant at Epcot probably. I am considering bumping this one off and just waiting for Fantasmic since it doesn't sound that bad. It really doesn't bother me to wait. Plus watch us get done everything in MGM that we want to do by 7:30 and need something to do and then we can go sit for Fantasmic.

Marriedmarylander: I would say not to do the dinner package if you are unsure. Like a previous poster said, if it rains and they cancel you are just out of luck. Also, my least favorite meal at WDW was the Hollywood and Vine buffet. I thought it was pretty gross. Might have been because we were so worn out from heat that day, I don't know. We have done it both ways and say we will never dinner package again due to that rain factor. The night we did the dinner package they started the show late because of rain and I was on pins and needles thinking all that money for lousy food and we may not see Fantasmic, but we did! Also, on our last trip we were some of the last people in and had "bad" seats that weren't bad at all. It is a such a great show, you will love it!
