Did anyone try holistic therapies in the run up to their big day?

I am getting married in 6 weeks and I was wondering if anyone could advise me what would be the best thing to try to keep my stress levels down, (keep me sane! lol) and to keep myself focused on the important thing – getting married and to enjoy the whole process rather than dread it.

It’s not the getting married that worries me it is the people, the fuss, the things that still need to be done, family members getting on with each other etc that is getting me worked up.

Can anyone help? I'm interested in CDs, incense and crystals but would be willing to try anything.

I really appreciate any advice you can give? Did you girls feel that same or am I going mad? :goodvibes

something remedy i think its some smelly stuff!! I know my MIL used it on a flight but cant think what its called!! So i'm no help sorry

Lavender (or its scent, rather) is said to have stress-relieving properties. Aveeno makes a really great lotion, or also, you could get essential lavender oil and put a few drops on your pillow case before you go to bed. I don't know how much it'll help, but it definitely helps to make me relax. :goodvibes

Ooh is that Bachs Rescue Remedy - I think I've seen that in Boots - adding it to me list. :goodvibes

I've just added lavender to my basket at the holistic shop :thumbsup2

I've also added amber and citrine crystals and a few others that just took my fancy

I'll let you know how I get on.

Anymore remedies to try?

Yoga, Yoga, Yoga! I recommend Yoga. Just because it really calms you in the moment. And it gives you all the tools for breathing through stress. And the effects always stay with me after a class. The calm and peacefulness that I carry around are great. And I don't even want a cigarette after for many hours (my less healthy vice!) And you don't have to be super flexible (although practice long enough and you will be) it's all about working to your own edge. Find a great class with a great instructor or get a DVD. I usually go to class, I work better when someone is right there to help me along or correct me. But I'm sure a DVD would work too, I just can't personally recommend any. :hippie:

Thanks for your replies girls :thumbsup2 I'd love to try yoga but I just don't think I have time for it at the moment. I'm going to Curves gym 3-4 times a week so I think I am getting some exercise from that - I defo feel muchas better after it :goodvibes Kx

I am a firm believer in the bubble bath! If you get a chance when you are in Disney you should go to DTD and go to Basin they have the best bath stuff there!

I agree- yoga (and pilates) works magic. It gets all those knots out!
