Did anyone not like Soarin?

It was only O.K. for my family of four. It was our last day at Epcot, and fastpasses were all used up for the day. I really wanted to go on this before leaving, so we went ahead and got in the line with a wait time of 70 minutes. I don't think we have ever bothered to wait in a line that long before (and probably never will again)! For us, the ride was certainly not worth standing in line for that long. I would only go on it again with a fast pass or a very short wait time.

Can someone tell me how far off the ground you actually are? Someone just mentioned that you can stand instead of ride? Is that something you mention when you get to the front of the line? And one more question...how many can a seat hold? We are a family of seven and I was just trying to prepare.......Thanks

i have riden soarin' many many times and I have never seen anyone stand. I can't figure out where they would have you stand where you would get a full view of the screen. There maybe places but I haven't seen it happen.

each seat holds one rider. The rows either have 7 or 8 across up to 12 across and 3 separate sections just depends on where they are located on the ride. Think large ferriswheel with only 3 rows. They make sure your party is in the same section. You are divided when you get down to the loading area.

There are three levels, so you're either (just guessing here) 10, 25, or 40 feet off the ground. I don't believe there is any place to watch the movie without being in the gliders. I doubt the view is any good from the ground. Each glider holds seven I think.

I loved it, but I just wanted to comment about the "Florida film" rumors...

I think that would be extremely BORING! There are no mountains in Florida, barely even hills. Just flat land, swamp, beaches, and metro areas. It would get old quick. Maybe a new film which showcased various areas of the US...but not just Florida. If that's really what they're planning, I think they are nuts!

Someone actually made a video online of a Florida Soarin' video. It wasn't bad...

I think there are a few things that could be put in the Soarin' over Florida you can't find anywhere else...the Keys, South Beach, NASA and the Space Shuttle, Bok Tower, Orange Groves, The Everglades, Downtown Orlando, Florida's state bird the construction crane (J/K!!)

I have a serious fear of heights and falling but I loved this ride so much. My 4 year old daughter, on the other hand, did not like it at all and told me she will never go on it again. My two boys and DH liked it, too.
