Did anyone hear about WOC?

I asked the Disney site. And I believe they said that they won't know until the end of this month if WOC will be available.

They charge so much because they can get away with. Even with all the closures coming early next year with a huge portion of the park going into construction, it would not surprise me if they jacked up the prices again. Possibly 2 times. Hopefully consumers will make them pay for it if they try it.

That's true! :crazy2:
:thanks: for your reply :)

I really love WOC but its not a deal breaker for us BUT if you are able to change dates and go when it is going on then do it, its worth it.

That's a good idea! I will have to glue myself to the site for any news about WOC. :sunny:

I just got back from there and WOC was running. They have two shows and they are different shows.

Fantasmic is running, but not for much longer as they are closing that area to build the new Star Wars area.

The site was updated! :) It now says that WOC will be back on Feb 2nd. And of course it's subject to change. :) But that's great!

Thanks for your reply. :)

I just wonder if it's worth going if both attractions are going to be closed. :sad1:

For me, it would be a deal breaker if it's my only trip. I'm really big on Disney Nighttime entertainment - it's my favorite part of the day. With no F! and no WOC, that's a lot of my favorite stuff gone. And with DL cancelling fireworks if someone sneezes the wrong way (a bit exaggerated, I know), you never know if there will be absolutely nothing to catch at the end of the day. To me, that just makes Disney more like a Six Flags or Knott's Berry Farm. Fun, but not a great vacation experience.

I'll say that this is my opinion only, not others and not yours. But if you're like me, this kind of news will make you second guess your travel dates.

What closures early next year? I read the star wars land was going to be built on newly aquired land-this makes me think that closures will be minimal to existing parks. Other than this years closures. But if you have any other insite to this I would love to know as we are planning a trip next FEB 2017 from WA.

Unfortunately, I think it's too soon to tell for 2017. :sad1: I am going by the website for now and the site only has the rides and entertainment schedule until for Feb 2016 only, so far. FYI: On January 11, 2016, the park will cease operations on several major attractions, including Big Thunder Ranch—home to a barbecue restaurant, petting zoo, and the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree, all of which will close permanently. (A California family with close ties to Disneyland has adopted the animals from the petting zoo. :dogdance:)
Not sure how long it will take for Star Wars Land to be fully built... At the moment, there is no firm completion date for “Star Wars Land,” but educated guessers believe it will open sometime in 2017—just in time for Star Wars: Episode VIII to break all sorts of new box office records. :confused3
These rides and entertainment are closed for the building of Star Wars Land, as far as I know from looking at the site:
Fantasmic, Disney Railroad, Mark Twain Riverboat, Big Thunder Ranch (Closed Forever?), Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes, Sailing Ship Columbia, and Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island. I also think ROA will be emptied or drained as well during construction. The new “Star Wars Land” will replace a portion of the park's Frontierland. And Tomorrowland’s Innovations building has been converted into a Star Wars Launch Bay, while other Tomorrowland attractions like Star Tours and Space Mountain (now called Hyperspace Mountain) have been renovated to feature special effects and imagery from The Force Awakens.

The construction starting next week is to level the ground and reroute the railroad for where Star Wars land will be built. As the railroad currently cuts through the middle of the land they are building the Star Wars area on. It's suppose to take 12-18 months for that to be completed. I think the earliest the land will open will be 2018/2019. Of everything closing next week only the big thunder ranch area will not be coming back. All of the ROA attractions will reopen after the railroad is done being rerouted.
